Mostly to Pi$$ off the commissioner but he would still be better than Elder.

Bauer is like 34, and hasn't pitched in the majors in 5 years. His teammates universally voted that they didn't want him on the team when he was eligible to be taken off the restricted list. And his ERA in the NPB this year is the highest among qualified staters.

He most certainly isn't a better option than Elder.

We should be able to pull a solid prospect or 2 from one of these teams for Murphy. Hopefully an MLB ready SS. George Lombard Jr. from the Yanks would be nice.
