It’s July. We’re 300 plate appearances into the season. Writing 3 or 4 names into the lineup with sub .600 OPS means you either don’t know or don’t care. The”baseball card” argument makes sense for Acuña, Olson and Riley… and it’s obvious that Ozuna is hurting. Your eyes and brain should kick in for everybody else.
Yesterday was the deadline for season ticket renewal. My ticket group decided to punt after 24 years. You don’t get to cut payroll and then increase ticket prices 20% and require a 3 year commitment.
I was at the game last night and however bad it seems on TV, the lack of energy and urgency is way worse in the stadium.
Where is Alex!??? Bro needs to face the dumpster fire he’s createdI'm usually not the "intangibles" guy and usually roll my eyes at those type of fans but when you watch a baseball team 4-5 times a week you get the feel of a team. You can tell they've packed it in. And what is absolutely frustrating is the GM is in complete denial and thinks they're 1-2 moves away from fixing the team.
What’s crazy is how just about every position is blocked by a long term deal and there’s just nothing offensively at AAA or on the bench. So when one of those deals goes south or something screwy like the Profar deal happens, you’re left with complete slop for an alternative. They tried to do a bench and a bullpen on the cheap and got caught.Where is Alex!??? Bro needs to face the dumpster fire he’s created
What does he even really have to sell at this point? Murphy? A bullpen arm or two? A flyer on Chris Sale?
First off, it’s paramount to me that we ALL have a nice day.More bWAR, more fWAR, better batted ball data, better swing data, better underlying metrics, better production numbers, and soon to be a better OPS which is probably the only number you’re actually looking at
I never don’t have a nice day!
Iglesias and Johnson make the most sense, and the fanbase probably wouldn’t even notice. I can’t for the life of me understand why Drake and Acuña aren’t getting DH ABs once a week. It’s the one place where we have depth.Johnson, Iglesias, Ozuna should fetch something not terrible. The problem is Ozuna and Sale would get us something significant if healthy, but these morons have Ozuna playing on a torn hip and Sale was throwing 115 pitches in the 9th inning.
You’re playing tee ball budFirst off, it’s paramount to me that we ALL have a nice day.
But not at the expense of the facts.
Without further ado, let’s let the (unbiased) people decide:
Freeman .308/.381/.502
OPS .882
OPS+ 147
wRC+ 143
HR 10
Matt Olson .262/.366/.473
OPS .839
OPS+ 133
wRC+ 133
HR 15
as you see, the only statistically category Matt bests Freddie is in HRs, yet his SLG is still significantly lower.
Now, Freddie’s numbers have dipped this month due to a soft tissue issue (this should be your angle of attack btw) and Matt is better defensively by a gap that seems to be increasing.
Looks like I just punched your ticket to FACTS CITY, hombre.
