The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

Or the whole season!
I’m sorry. But I’ve decided I just can’t let this post slide.

Saying a player is having a better season because they are defensively playing superior is wack lol

Because I’ve ran the numbers and offensively Freddie is having a better season across the board. So you can’t be basing it off of what they are doing at the plate.

Still want you to have a nice day tho

Has Grant Holmes done enough that you think he's a rotation fixture or do you think we have to sell high? For reference, he has a 3.34 ERA and a 3.80 FIP since the start of May (11 starts and 62 innings).

What could a Holmes and Murphy or Ozuna package net us at the deadline?

Ozuna’s value is probably nil with that hip and sub .600 OPS in the last 100 or so ABs.

Grant Holmes is pre-arb as far as service time and dirt cheap. He may be frustrating at times, but he’s got real value to the Braves so I doubt they’d move him unless they were buying a front line starter (which they probably won’t). If they sell, guys making $700k aren’t the ones that get dumped

That's fair. But he's 29 already. How many seasons of quality pitching do you realistically expect to get from him at this point?

I totally get the thought process but with another dirt cheap year left, he’s the kind of guy I’d bet they keep around even if he’s going to end up in the pen.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Profar back which will be a 100 point OPS boost in LF if he’s just breathing. Give Drake some DH ABs and make some sort of upgrade up the middle and some offensive woes will go away.

More bWAR, more fWAR, better batted ball data, better swing data, better underlying metrics, better production numbers, and soon to be a better OPS which is probably the only number you’re actually looking at

I never don’t have a nice day!

HIMs isn’t going anywhere

They’ve got to get elder out of the rotation. That’s somehow become more important than the 5 black holes in the lineup

Improving the Holmes spot is like concern #28 on this team lol

To be fair. Elder should've been out of the rotation after he sucked the second half of his fraudulent All Star year.
