New York City

The cost to rent business space in NYC is roughly 96 per sq ft. To compare, Nashville is roughly 22 to 34.

This means a 1000 sq ft fast food restaurant cost 96,000 a year in rent in NYC. In Nashville it is 22000.

Now let’s go with 30 minimum wage which after payroll taxes is now roughly 35. Hire 4 full time employees and your at $291,200.

In NYC you are now at 387,200 in overhead and you haven’t paid a single utility or purchased stock. Utilies and the cost to have the hoods professionally cleaned and inspected will be another 40k easy. Your now at 427,200 in overhead.

That means you have to sell 98 meals at day at 12 a meal just to pay basic overhead.

That is not sustainable.

99 percent of small business owners are not millionaires. They make somewhere between 85k and 150k. All this will do is cause them to close, stop hiring, or move.

I think we can all agree that capitalism is necessary, it’s just a matter of acknowledging legitimate flaws and ways to account for that while still retaining the system.
Even so, I don’t think there really is a gap, it’s a matter of semantics.
There are semantics related to terminology. I agree. I'm at a loss trying to understand semantics of degree of socialism implemented. I don't think semantics is the right term.

There's trading and there's being close to other industry actors for meetings and such. And NYC offers lifestyle choices that many like.
The lifestyle part of the equation is a choice. If that's what keeps them there, there is a steep price to pay if the Socialist becomes mayor. No sympathy at that point.

A lot of people prefer face to face. Remember too that we're talking about billionaires. They're aware of Zoom too. Obviously they want to be in NYC for some reason. If they were that put off by high taxes cost of living they'd have already moved out.
They get around it.

Not so fast my friend.

It is legal for businesses outside of a state to collect sales tax for transactions inside a state. Like Amazon. It isn't that big of a stretch of current law for that guy's proposal to be legal.
I think Kalifornia taxes retirement monies if you earned them in Kalifornia.

How may maga billionaires live in NYC?
Where would they go? There's no Wall Street or Park Aveue in Lenoir City.
It’s not that they’re “MAGA” necessarily, they just want a local .gov that won’t bear down on them ($$$), regardless of party. Their language is money. This socialist will bear down on them hard if elected.

Agreed. The Scandinavian countries are Democratic Socialist.

I believe we are Representative Republic Socialist.

There is a mix of political and economic systems in play in each of the countries. I have no idea at what point a mixed system can be classified on way or the other.
The Scandinavian countries are Capitalist economies, with fat social safety nets and “free” services (paid for by fat individual tax rates).

Wall Street firms started leaving Wall Street in large numbers over the last 3-4 years and moving to Miami, Florida as well as other southern states.

Asking the rich to come together to block the candidate chosen by voters, truly a woman of the people

You do realize that your beloved socialist only won the Democratic primary. He still has to win the general election, which is where the winning candidate is actually chosen by the voters. I understand that the process is confusing for liberals since selecting candidates in primaries is optional in the Democratic Party.

Speaking of confused, do you even know who any of the other candidates are? Lol

Then why do you seem so concerned about Laura Ingraham expressing views that voters exercise their rights to ban together against your socialist candidate? This is the way the democratic voting process functions. Primaries only choose candidates.
