Subject: Concerns Regarding the Performance of Defensive and Wide Receivers Coaching Staff

Dear Mr. White,

As a lifelong Tennessee fan, I’m writing out of deep concern for the direction of two key areas within our football program: the defense under Coach Willie Martinez and the wide receivers unit under Coach Kelsey Pope.

While I appreciate the energy and effort both bring, the consistent underperformance in their respective areas has become too glaring to ignore. Defensive back play has regressed when it should be progressing, and our receivers—once a strength of the team—struggle with consistency, separation, and reliability. Given the caliber of talent we’ve recruited, this underdevelopment is frustrating.

Tennessee football deserves a staff that can compete at the highest level and make the most of the incredible potential we have. For the future success of the program, I urge you to consider leadership changes in these areas.

I say this as a passionate supporter who believes in this team and this university. Thank you for your attention and dedication.

For me, the question is whether we already let too many teams in the tournament. Too many teams waters down the meaninfulness of the regular season. Thus, is this about what's best for the fans and sport or what's best for the bottom line?

Concerning? It’s frustrating that we can’t land a top 5 class though we have second to none facilities and one of the best venues in the country.

NIL is upon us but we were never top 10 in modern era / exception Lane’s 2009 class, though most transferred out.
