New York City

NYC is fine. You are old people who don't know how to digest media anymore
we went in October it was fun! Just kind of watched our surroundings.. the only kinda hmm episode we had was there had to be armed guards outside the synagogue by Central Park because I guess people had been acting the donkey.. other than that it didn’t feel dangerous really

We have a whole month of that shiz
Ikr, I get one day for pushing two humans out of my vajay jay and maybe get a card.. meanwhile they get a whole month? Yeah, makes a lot of sense… not. One day would have been more than sufficient for LGTBQMLNMOPFT.. ps it’s all just being gay.. call it ‘Gay Day’ June 16.. and be done with it…people would probably be less aggravated and more accepting of them too if they didn’t have to see or think about it for an entire month.. just a thought.. that, and quit being so weird

We went in October and had a great time.. even rode the subway and lived 😂.. with New Yorkers, if you just get out of their way and don’t engage with them, you are probably going to be okay
You had to have been murdered at least once.

What did yall see?
I went back to Times Square about 6 years ago just to see it and the Empire State Building one last time. Not sure I’ll ever do that again. We still go be boat to lady liberty every year though

Engaging with people is fine too, just be ready for them to tell it like it is if they're in a hurry or you ask a dumb question haha

I prefer directness to "bless your heart" fake niceness tbh
My lovely wife told the husband of one of her cousins “bless your heart “ as he was telling a story about something tough he’d been through. He stopped and said “thanks, ….wait, is that the southern I’m glad you survived or the southern you’re a dumbass”.

And the correct response would have been “yes”

government run grocery stores sound good to you?
As a competitor, sure. Groceries in NYC are incredibly expensive and it's already been done right in your backyard. And again, why would people who hate NYC be so worried about this?
Mamdani isn’t the only lawmaker embracing this approach to cheaper and more accessible groceries. This year, Madison, Wisconsin, is opening a city-owned grocery store in a food desert of its own. Atlanta is set to open two publicly run grocery stores, while Chicago is opening a city-run market. It’s not an entirely new concept. Erie, Kansas, has owned Stub’s Market since mid-2020, buying it when it was at risk of closing, which would have left the city without any grocery stores; city-owned grocery stores exist in two other Kansas towns, including the St. Paul Supermarket, which manages to turn a small profit that is reinvested in store operations.

It’s no secret the vast majority of northerners are A-holes.
A lot of northerners are A-holes, but to be fair many southerners are fake nice. IMO, that map that divides the US into quadrants and labels the upper midwest as the only one that "acts nice, is nice" is largely true.

There's also some of truth in that quip about how a northerner (particularly New Englander), upon seeing a broken down car, will stop and help that person while making fun of them the whole time. A Southerner will stop, say "Man, I really hope you get that fixed, and stay safe on the side of the road," then drive away. And I say this as someone who has lived in the south my entire life and doesn't have a "northern" bone in my entire body.

read it again. its going to be done. hasn't been done yet here in Atlanta.

at least here in atlanta they have already admitted they will be subsidized. both as far as rent goes, but also in keeping prices artificially lower. its most likely another tax payer funded boondoggle. Atlanta tried something similar with some other "markets" in the Underground and at 5 Points. both failed due to lack of demand and crime.
