We have been pretty close on a few types of cancer. We certainly have increased mortality with it over the past 50-60 years. The advancement of the science of heart disease has increased longevity of the millions who have it in some form or another. Cutting medical research $$$$ is ignorant, and therefore stupid, for solely and absolutely doing it for petty, political reasons
