Sounds like they are still battling for Advincula and Mack.

Ford and Newman obviously in the boat now. Blaine Brown finishing visits early this week then probably making a decision. Think they’re gonna go find a left handed pitcher at some point. There’s another infielder they are in on too

Much better chance to get to campus than Crawford.

Will be a nervy few days during the draft though. They have some legitimate elite talent that they have a real chance to get to campus but could easily get drafted and sign too

So, assuming Ford does play for us, what does the lineup look like for us next year?

C: BG Transfer
1B: Ford
2B: Open?
SS: Marin
3B: Newstrom
LF: Clark
CF: Abernathy
RF: Open?

Maybe he thinks he could develop here better than he could in the minors. It’s not necessarily that crazy considering the number of players who have been fast tracked to the majors that have come through here now.

At UT, my value proposition would be:
1) better environment, living conditions, and travel
2) excellent development and coaching
3) chance to develop into 1st rounder
4) track record of getting guys drafted and into big leagues quickly
5) chance to compete at the highest level and for championships
6) get your degree with zero debt

Well, maybe he'll see UT as more fun, better food and more girls? Can enjoy it for a year...or two...then head to the league? Never know how a kid will see things. Having said that, I think seeing those dollar signs will make the decision for him.

That’s a nice lineup. Need some left handed pop in those open spots though. Believe Abernathy is only one not batting right in that lineup so far.

The biggest selling point to college over minors is that you live a more glamorous life, albeit with a lot less money to your name. You're more famous, play in a better environment, and travel with more amenities.

That's not nothing, and I can see why some would choose it for sure. It's just I personally, if offered anywhere but Tennessee, would just take the money and no classes..
