around 25:00 mark from Vitello today.. "We faced a pitcher on a Sunday in Lindsay Nelson Stadium where he flat out got offered 2x the amount of money that he could've made here, so he chose the other place."
didn't sound thrilled saying it.

Why say things like the opening line? I would bet a lot of money that if y’all called Mitch Canham after the CWS and offered him DVH’s salary (vs his current $650K) he still sticks it out at Oregon State. What does Arkansas offer that OSU doesn’t? They’re going to their 7th CWS since DVH arrived (he has 8), they’ve won 3 titles, they’ve made it there under 2 different coaches. So you have a bigger stadium, more NIL, can likely get higher ranked recruits; but OSU’s proven they don’t need those “advantages” to win a CWS.And no coach would take the Oregon State job over the Arkansas one, I guess that was my point. A&M football is as mediocre as it gets yet coaches consider that job borderline elite. Really nothing to do with Vitello just the thought process that one player not making a play in the title game has any bearing on the desirability of that job over another.
I bet he'd stay, but not for those reasons. Going from the PNW to the south is a culture shock for a lot of people.. culturally and within the job of coaching at that level. Why say things like the opening line? And he’s from Washington state and an alum so yeah he’s not leaving for any reason. But that validates my point that not everyone is choosing Arkansas over Oregon State. The reasons I listed as an advantage for Arkansas aren’t necessarily what drives everyone, nor is the lifestyle/culture you referenced.I bet he'd stay, but not for those reasons. Oregon State was just an example. Everyone has different aspirations to your point, but when one of the top SEC jobs opens the support for baseball is just different. Most coaches would want every available resource they can get. But then again, you do have people like Mark Few who stay at successful mid-majors too.Why say things like the opening line? When he leaves Tennessee it will be for a MLB job.It always seems to me like Arkansas fans think very highly of their program, considering they've never won a national championship. The title after you click the link is:

This has always been so weird to me. They've got a great stadium, deep pockets, and a big fanbase---but they can't win the big one, and yet it's still considered to be a fantastic job. Maybe has something to do with the big coaching contracts, but they just can't get it done. Plus they have those strange yell leaders.
Tony probably doesn’t. want to live around a bunch of toothless Ozarkians.Tony has coached at the following places:
He has spent twice as long leading us here as he has he did as an assistant in Arkansas, with more success. Also, Tony is the highest paid coach in the sport. I think Arkansas is in for a rude awakening when DVH retires and their prodigal son isn't coming home.
