Without Tennessee in it, I want the underdog (at this point, for me, Coastal Carolina) to win the CWS.
If Arkansas wins, that should quiet Arkansas people down about wanting CTV, unless DVH wants to go out on top and retire.
But if Arkansas doesn’t win, I think that will turn up the desires of a lot of Arkansas fans to get CTV because DVH can’t get over the hump. I don’t think that’s fair, but considering a rabid fan base, you know it’s coming, despite DVH consistently doing well.
Arkansas is not the Susan Lucci* of the CWS; that distinction belongs to Florida State, except that Susan Lucci eventually did win.
* Lucci was nominated 21 times for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She won only once, in 1999, after the 19th nomination; her status as a perpetual nominee for the award had attracted significant media attention since the late 1980s.
