The four-star tight end has been committed to Tennessee since last August but the Nashville (Tenn.) Donelson Christian Academy has been taking visits amid concerns that the Vols don’t throw to their tight ends enough and Florida made a significant impression over the weekend.

The Gators “shot up” on his board and a final decision on everything should happen in the next couple weeks.

We’ve thrown to 2 TEs every year since heupel has been coach for 400-500 yards total and about 40-50 receptions. I feel like that definitely qualifies as “throwing to our tight ends”

Both Florida and Tennessee only threw to their top 3 tight ends. Their top three had 18, 15, and 11 catches for 444 yards and 5 TDs. Our top three had 22, 15, and 13 receptions for 532 yards and 7 TDs. He should have concerns about Florida not throwing to their tight ends. Florida’s negative recruiting was pretty easy to disprove.

You don’t have to have anything disproven when you’ve been looking for an excuse to get out for four months.

We've seen these recruitments for years. Kids who are literally looking for any reason to get out, usually do. It honestly to me shows a lack of character or immaturity on their behalf. Not just due to not sticking to a commitment, but, because of inability to tell someone no, and telling other's what they want to hear.

The DB who flipped to Florida last minute in '24 is a good example. There are others.

I am guessing he is floating info out there, checking all the boards to see if he really wants risk coming here. Applying the data to a neuvo Ben Franklin T…..,,, so far not so good. Bet mom is watching too. Maybe our idiots are outperformed by the other teams posters, they always say EVERY TEAM HAS THEM.

Why as a parent or inside supporter would you not investigate EVERY fanbase in tour short list. Especially free sites. With homegrowns it COULD be a bigger factor, you might have to work or encounter caustic snarky negas. Hopefully the net fan experience is a plus, but all is in play, and living in denial or desiring to limit one’s liabilities is a worthless disregard to realities…..we are a factor.

Yes some guys take visits after committing and some don’t. Recruiting has always worked this way. This is not a new phenomenon.

Just like we get guys on campus that are already committed to other schools. Then there are other recruits committed to other schools that we try to get on campus but they never do.

Do you think LSU should pull Tristen Keys offer?

If I were LSU? Yes I would. You either want to be here or you don’t. Take all the visits you want before committing. But after you commit, the official visits stop. Of course I only care about TN. I don’t want any of our committed guys taking visits. Do I have an issue with committed players to other schools visiting here? Nope. Don’t care a bit. Only our commits.
