Can't wait to see Kaiya back on the floor this season. I look for her to be special in Coach Kim's system. And also look for Kaniya to make a big jump this year. GBO....and Kaiya Wynn, with an asterisk.
Of course Kaiya got to observe and learn what CKC wants from her players, but there's a way you could also make a case that Kaiya joins the team this year "via the portal, from Tennessee."
I'm sure everyone agrees with me, 100%...
I think Kim's system will benefit her greatly. With the time she has had, I hope she has improved her long range shooting. She was always a dribble driver. Can't wait to see Kaiya back on the floor this season. I look for her to be special in Coach Kim's system. And also look for Kaniya to make a big jump this year. GBO.
I didn’t realize it was exhibition last year. I was sensitive to the poor quality of our OOC schedule. I don’t have a problem playing extension schools or other in state schools to support their programs. Supporting other states mid programs should be left to their flagships. jmho.Don't stop playing C-N. They can use the money and it's an exhibition game by 2 schools with numerous ties to each other. I don't know how much worse our schedule is compared to similar schools. If ours is not good enough, whose schedule should we mirror? With so many new players, I don't know if a vintage Pat schedule would be in the best interests of the team.
Last year's early schedule made good sense, what with a new and unusual system to be learned. My bad. Samford, WCU, NCCU, UTM and Winthrop were all almost as bad and the sentiment still applies. They need to raise the bar for the bottom feeders of the schedule.
We didn't have the players or coaching to survive a Pat type schedule for the last 10 years. I believe we have a staff and players to start looking at doing that again. I'm reminded of the old Baylor and UConn schedules. When they had the powerhouse teams, they scheduled a tough OOC but when they didn't they scheduled a lot weaker. I think we all want to get back to a Pat type schedule but don't want a repeat of 2022's OOC.I saw no issues with the schedule last season. In years past under any UT WBB Coach, it came down to how the LVs played as a cohesive unit and other factors such as staying healthy. Coach Caldwell in year 1 was just on another level. This is usually the time during the off-season where everything is under a microscope right or wrong. This past season‘s team ended the season ranked in the Top 15 with the non-conference schedule they played last season. CKC has built one of the best rosters in WBB. They start 2025-2026 projected as a Top 10 team according to preseason rankings. I can bet not many ranked teams are jumping to schedule the LVs during non-conference as some might have been in the past following the Coach Summitt era and prior to CKC first year where she beat several tourney teams including UConn, Florida State, Iowa, Liberty, Middle Tennessee State, and Richmond.
This is a different era of collegiate sports having a significant portion of the team new to the roster year to year is the norm. The LVs have five players returning that played and started in many games last season. Kaiya Wynn is a sixth player returning that despite sitting out a full season will likely play a key role off the court for this program. The transition might be quicker than some anticipate right now.
GBO solid!
Agreed.Last year's early schedule made good sense, what with a new and unusual system to be learned.
This year... well, we still have lots of new players--and many freshmen--so how far up would you ramp the challenge this November-December?
I'm probably being too cautious, but I would wait 'til third or fourth season to start making out a Pat-style, front-loaded, tourney-expectant teams schedule that challenges from the get-go. But even as I say that, I can hear CKC saying, "We intend to win now!"

I don't see how you got this from what I wrote but so be it.You can’t really compare teams across different eras in WBB. Not really sure what you’re saying but last season’s team beat the eventual National Champions and several ranked teams from the start to finish of the year according to the polls. Advance to the S16. Loss 90% of their games by single digits. Played a stretch of four Top 5-10 teams five games in like a month. If they didn’t have the players or coaching in CKC first year they would’ve been lucky to make the tournament. They were a 5th seed. Again, the schedule was not an issue. The NET rankings for last season’s schedule was solid. CKC can win with any schedule in front of her. She beat Florida State, Iowa, and UConn in year 1. Case closed.

Well, excuse me. We're apparently on different wavelengths but I've lost interest now for some reason so have a nice evening. If you can’t see the logic then don’t respond to the post. You can’t compare different eras.
It’s really simple.
How many teams in today’s landscape of collegiate sports have come together in a matter of months with a new staff and achieved the accolades that the UT WBB basketball program did in year 1? From beating multiple ranked teams including the eventual Nat’l Champion and signing the #1 transfer portal and #1/#2 hs recruiting classes.
CKC can win with any schedule in front of her that’s pretty much facts.
