Iran

If you were making decisions for Israel, would you acquiesce to Iran's desire for talks about their nuclear program?
Not at the moment. I would continue to devastate their nuclear program to the extent possible to where it leaves a lasting impression and sends a clear message on how any talks will go.

Yes. I think the ask has to be that the IAEA can expect whenever it wants without notice. Any attempt to stop them or work around them would be an automatic violation of any cease fire agreement
But you have to be able to trust the regime in power.........I don't think that's a viable option now.

And they always turn out so well.
As long as we are only on the sidelines as an observer and talks are left up to ME states and new leadership in Iran, it might have a decent chance of working out. We are terrible at managing the aftermath of a regime change.

Given that this is about nuclear capabilities and research, I think the US needs to have more than a passing interest in who controls Iran and its nuclear aspirations.

Israel lacks the weapons to destroy the deep bunkers so they won't take it all out. The next regime may have quite a bit of nuclear research infrastructure left.

I'm not saying we should lead a regime change but we should certainly vet the next leadership.

Oh, I think the US will certainly be having discussions and input with the ME states that we have ties with (Jordan, Israel, Saudi, Qatar, etc.). I don’t believe we need to be out in front, though. Given the other ME states current disdain for Iran, their vested interests and goals for a new, cooperative regime in Iran would likely reflect ours. I, more or less, meant we don’t need to be leading the charge, putting boots/personnel on the ground while pushing the ME states aside.

Netanyahu's still trying to sucker Trump into getting into the war since we can take out the deep bunkers.

That doesn’t sound good

I have to question this if earlier reports are true Iran has reached out to other ME states to facilitate talks with Israel to de-escalate. I think they’re hurting in a bad way and they have little leverage now that Israel owns the skies over Iran.

What are the chances all the tankers that left the US last night are also transporting Moabs to be handed off for Israel to use? Maybe that’s how we don’t officially get into it, but help Israel finish it off. Just spitballing…

How many MOABS do we have left?

I'm REALLY hoping Trump is too smart to get very involved but I'm hearing that refueling planes are in the air from the US to the area. I'm unsure as those came from a personal message to me from someone whose grandson in actually "en route" with the carrier group.

We might be posturing and trying to get Iran to back off.
