I think this was all planned months ago, maybe even before Trump took office.

I think I read that the attack happened on day 61.

I also read that trump knew it was happening, but didn't want it to happen. Israel has a long history of offensive activities in disregard for US policy preferences.

Yep. I have watched a video of an EMP weapon mounted on a Humvee type vehicle fry all the electronics in a truck from about 1000 yards away. The truck was immediately inoperable. It took massive amounts of electricity, just like LASERs do, and may be hard or impossible to install on an aircraft though

But ground based interceptors are possible and much more practical it sounds like. And a thousand yards should be sufficient as they fly at low altitude.
