Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Recruiting needs to start picking up. Bring on the 4* and 5* kids. Maybe even a few 6* ones. I would hate to start firing folks this early in the process.
This wont be a popular opinion. This is sort of a make or break year recruiting wise, no more super seniors, rev sharing, and key losses at end of year.

Getting a sense that we are still ok taking projects at DB. Why waste time and NIL? still have yet to recruit a highly sought after safety, that P5 teams covet.

Staff does an above average job getting them to campus. Feels like there is no momentum on the trail, esp after taking two projects in a row.

😔😔😔😔

I was going to say, does tampering even exist anymore?
I think assho Corbin claiming that CTV was tampering in Ahuna’s case is the only time NCAA ever acted on “tampering.” We had his complete transcript (students can access them online) but Kansas had intentionally refused to send an “official” copy, iirc. That was the “infraction.” Ahuna had to sit out early season, which particularly sucked because it hurt bonding with team and also because his whole family had flown to Arizona to see our three opening games.

W - yay, my first week-long vacation in a year.

Tr - took off work. Spent all day packing, planning, shopping. Spent way too much.

Fr - drive to Bonnaroo. 5+ hours with the new I40 fix from Asheville to Knoxville. Get into Manchester at 3. First show at 5. No problem. Hmm storming just a bit (a lot). Shows on hold and no car entry due to lightning. "Come back later". Come back 1 hr later. "6:45 we open". Come back at 6:45. "We're on code red. Closed until further notice." Park and walk to security. Same message. See side parking, $20 a day and can sleep in your car. Ok. Gameplan. Load up and begin walking in around 7:30. 50 feet from the gate, "Bonnaroo is cancelled". FML. Head to first hotel in Monteagle, total POS. Grab dominoes. Awful.

Wake up today and we found b2b concerts to see back at home. Vacation semi-saved.

tl;dr eff mother nature's torrential rain circa 2024-2025. Gimme a break!! 😮‍💨😮‍💨😅

For those that care, the little kitten we found in the road is now named Roman. He's tripled his weight in three weeks. His eyes have completely opened, he has just a little scarring in his retina. The vet thinks he will be 90 to 100% vision in the next week.

She was actually amazed at his progress. He's still finishing antibiotics and his eye meds but has given us the greenlight to introduce him to the other animals by midweek.

The only animal he's had contact with was our most recent rescue Canolli. He was a feral cat that chose us, he was already on antibiotic anyway. For a feral guy recently fixed he's been surprisingly gentle with little Roman.

Roman has nothing but energy these days. It's nice to see him happy and active. But he's exhausting.
You and your family are the reason that we should never give up on humanity. God bless y’all and like I said before, if you need help financially with up keep, let us know. I promise I will give.

On3 has the class 12th nationally and 5th in the SEC. Not sure that's panic territory. They might just be refining their fitness metric and taking more time after the Nico fiasco. Might be placing a higher emphasis on coachability and chemistry, and trying to gauge whether the payday is the primary concern or not. Money will continue to be a major consideration for many, but based on recent lessons I would be placing a slightly higher emphasis on guys I think would stay long term. A coachable and committed high 3*/low *4 will likely do better for you in his 4th year than a 2nd year high 4*/5* who quits on you for a bag. JMO.
