President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Sigh.

Give it a break with the Posse Comitatis BS. Even you've admitted it's a crippled argument. They are permitted domestic activities, thus will have been trained for those domestic activities. My quotes from defense.gov confirmed that any additional training is and has been received before setting foot on their domestic assignments.

You have been forced to admit that there is no legal argument, and you continue to invent concerns from that purely partisan perspective that you somehow try to deny while it also keeps you prisoner.
My post came completely from a government site as well. They have not necessarily been trained to handle domestic unrest, either. I haven't been "forced" to do anything. I said from the outset that the President does have wide latitude, but just because you can do something, doesn't mean that you should. There was no reason, outside of political posturing, to deploy the United States Marine Corps, when the National Guard was already on site.

This was a political stunt. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Not a fan of it. But weren't you quiet when Obama assasinated a US citizen? If so, the pearl clutching by you is funny
What's your size? I'll get you one in a different color for every day of the week.

I agree. This entire protest was a political stunt funded by leftist hate groups and communists.

Sure. You may tell yourself that, but when you let it outside your head, people can recognize the dumbassery.

And sure. You tell your thin ice with your "necessarily" qualifier. As well as assuming and affirming motives, you are now telling us that military leadership took the people who are responsible for crowd control, civil unrest and military policing duties, and unleashed them onto American soil without training on crowd control, civil unrest and policing duties, even though the DoD is specifically telling us that they are trained and briefed on doing so domestically.

You must be a pretty big deal, not just around here.

And also, lest we forget in your diversion from the conversation...

But all of that is a clumsy diversion. Let's remember that, absent salient points, this discussion was about your need to argue assumed and attributed motives.

Thanks for the reminder:

That is BS. It is not the mission of the United States Marine Corps to police and perform crowd control on American soil.

You are a clown .... wherever you are.

Sounds like it's part of it. That's why you had to agree that you have no legal response. That's pretty much why all you have is "Orange Man Bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The good news is, you replies get shorter as you realize your arguments are exposed. Go ahead and just devolve completely to personal insults, and we can both return to our regularly scheduled Saturday. K?

You are trying to normalize Trump's behavior with the "everybody does it," sentiment. It is nonsense. Trump's decision-making and impulsiveness are uniquely dangerous because he is the President of the United States, and he is of a mind to abuse his power, and use the armed forces as though they are his own private militia.

Trump's actions were both divisive and provocative .... just for the cause of political posturing.

LOL. My replies get shorter, because my argument is the basic, common sense one. The purpose of the Marine Corps is not to enforce laws on American soil.

For those paying attention, the argument seems to be that Federal Law makes it a part of the Military's duty to enforce and support Federal Law domestically when called to do so:

But they are untrained to do so, thus incapable of doing so and untrustworthy of doing so, to the extent that it should not be done (but also, mainly because an anonymous internet poster knows intimately, the motives of someone he has never met, at a time when violent extremists are rioting, looting, fire-bombing and attacking federal officers, and coordinating on the internet to take it nation-wide).

Not many people are fire bombing or throwing rocks. A great many people are protesting trumps actions. The USMC trains to kill enemies.
U.S. citizens cannot be considered enemies

Oh, look. Swamp decided to double down on a defeated argument.

Tell me how you know that the US Military, tasked to serve domestically when the need arises, isn't trained to do so. TIA.
