So you owned a contracting business?

Did you have any rooftop parties?

Do you have older siblings? my older sister and brother went to UT in the 90's and early 2000's.
Yeah, still own the nightmare. I have 6 brothers and sisters. Most of them went to ETSU, Duke and Eastern Kentucky or maybe Western Kentucky in the 80s & early 90s, they're all older than me.

Same. If you don't mind vulgarity, Dungeon Crawler Carl has an excellent voice talent. Dresden files I've heard is good so I'll look at them eventually
Dungeon Crawler Carl is on my future listen list. Two of my buddies also recommended it.

Dresden Files voice actor is James Marsters. Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He is really good.

Years ago I coached youngest son's 7- 8 yr old live pitch team. At tryouts there were guys with stopwatches and cheap radar guns. I looked for a fat kid to catch, who came in the expensive cars so they could pay for snacks and who had the hot Mom's just because. We had fun and laughed a lot. Won the league. Two kids from that league played pro ball and neither played any travel ball. Crap is WAY out of hand.
My first season as a baseball head coach was comical to say the least. The city league has a draft that’s set up pretty well. My son had asked me to draft his friends (some good players and some awful players).
I never had any trouble with the parents thankfully.

The funniest thing is at the first couple games, the opposing coaches asked me if I drafted my team based on the Moms. I admit that I hadn’t noticed, but my team definitely won the hot Mom competition and it wasn’t even close. 😂

We didn’t win a lot of games, but every player was a much better player by the end of the season because we worked on the basics and mechanics. We also had a lot of fun.

We had one kid who just couldn’t get the hang of it. He couldn’t really catch, throw or hit. I spent a ton of time with him and he just couldn’t get it. We were in our last game of the season. He had struck out every single at bat (really hard to do in the second season of kid pitch. Don’t swing at anything but a strike and 75% of at bats you walked) Only way I could keep him from swinging would be to send him toThe plate without a bat. 😊 Anyway, his last at bat on the first pitch he hit a hard line drive right up the middle for a double. Would have been a triple, but at first he just stood there watching it go. The team erupted like he hit a walk-off grand slam! It was a 2 rbi double by the way.
The bottom of the last inning, same kid is playing 2nd. He is playing close to second base. I just let him stay there. The bases are loaded with no outs. If the other team scores 2 then they win.
The batter hits a line drive right at him. All the parents gasp including me because we know he is gonna die when it hits him. He calmly catches the line drive steps on second and throws to first for a solo triple play. The entire crowd is completely silent for a second and then explodes. My players and coaches rush the field. The players mob him then hoist him on their shoulders and carry him off. You would think that he won the CWS…

The other coach came to shake hands and asked me why we were so excited about the win? He knew that we didn’t make the playoffs. His team did even with the loss.
I told him that the double was his first hit of the season and more importantly the triple play was the first catch, smart baseball move and first throw out of the season for that player.

It’s what I love most about team sports. Sometimes you don’t have to win it all to get a great memory and feel like a winner!

NCAA is not enforcing tampering. I was talking to a friend who is a college coach and NCAA has basically stopped enforcing everything. He told me in January that Texas Tech was going to start out spending everyone in all sports.
No one is tampering because no one has to. It's perfectly within the rules to use agents as go-betweens between schools and clients at any time. If they want to do anything at all about that very thing happening then they need to do something about that.

I was going to say, does tampering even exist anymore?

Happy Saturday and happy Fathers day to my fellow Dad's. We all have our Heavenly Father to thank for this day and everyday.

June 14, 2025: Do your best to not treat someone with contempt. It is not something you can take back, and you will be left with regret. It will take you out of the spirit and deposit you squarely in the flesh. Think twice before you violate the boundaries of another individual with disdain. Luke 6:31 And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.

@Rishvol

Audiobooks depends greatly upon the voice talent.

I recommend
zombie Fallout series
Dresden Files series
Iron Druid series
Mad Mick series
America Falls series (can get all in one omnibus)
Convergence series

All are excellent reads, but for me the voice actors really bring the books to life. If the voice is just reading then I pass by. There needs to be different voices and potentially accents for each character to really get it right.

I listen to audiobooks to and from work and actually anytime I am driving alone. 🤠
If voice talent is important to you, check out Steven Pacey. The Abercrombie first law trilogy went from a C+/B- book to an A++++ audio book because of him.

Dungeon Crawler Carl is so good. Not actually that vulgar. Dresden files is more vulgar in my opinion. Also good, but Dungeon Crawler Carl is better.
