Once upon a time, there I was sittin' in my Pinto chootin' cattle (pew pew), eatin' a hairy moist carrot cake whilst arguing who the goat bball player is.

I was listening to some Arkansas podcasts before our series and it is unreal. They were going on about how they have the best baseball program and it’s not close. And how great their program is overall. It was insane.

They are obsessed with us, too. I really hope they lose, the sooner the better. I want this choke job to continue as their defining CWS moment for all time:


An easy out chocked away with two outs in the books during Oregon State's last at bat. The game and the national championship was as easy as catching that foul ball. Instead, this choke job was followed by Oregon State scoring 3 runs, winning the game, and going on to win the title.

I didn't add salt. But I've tried olive oil on lemon sorbet and on chocolate ice cream. Not something I regularly do. But it was definitely good and an interesting experience. You probably want an arbequina olive oil (it's milder) or some kind of mild first press olive oil for the vanilla. But not a so-called "Light" olive oil: that's far from first press oil and largely neutered of aroma and flavor. And it's not (as sometimes believed) lighter in calories. Some people cook with it because it's neutral; but I cook with first press oil for the flavor and even better also drizzle it raw over the dish before serving.

Don't drown it. You can always add more. Use a good quality oil because that's going to be what you're tasting. Go for it! And if you think it's terrible, that will be a good story, too.

Yellow cake needs chocolate icing, but otherwise it is a top cake. Lemon cake is horrible. Pineapple cake isn't top 5.

Really your strawberry line item is the only one you got right. You and Byron drvenner and commie jack are all in the same bad taste bucket now.
