Should we use the Jesus standard for divorce, pornography, intoxication, homosexuality, prayer in schools, adultery, etc? Or is it only valid for when our neighbor isn't "loved"?
I'm glad you don't want me to feel defensive because I don't feel that way at all.The meme was mocking MAGA people who are cheering this chaos on. It didn't actually attack the laws or attempt to invalidate them based on Jesus' teachings.
I don't think you need to feel defensive about this.
However, last week multiple posters were essentially invoking Jesus (their Christian beliefs) to support Israel's regime that is currently practicing the mass murder of innocent civillians (with their declared goal of ethnic cleansing), and nobody said a word about invoking Jesus. Not one person that I saw. My meme says "love one another" and that's out of bounds?

I'm trying to ascertain when are "we" allowed to follow Jesus and when we aren't. I have been reprimanded about overstep many times in my life because there is a separation of church and state.
You are shedding so many tears over a Sunday school teacher. Or was it a murderous terrorist that was hiding in a terrorist country?
Our constistuon was designed to protect our rights. Even those who do the most vile shat. Bc an unchecked government is the biggest threat to individual freedom. More so than some terroist F-head.You are shedding so many tears over a Sunday school teacher. Or was it a murderous terrorist that was hiding in a terrorist country?
The splinter in my eye is bigger than the log in yours. You're not talking about a single thing that I'm talking about if you are needing me to comment on the separation of church and state.
BTW, the separation of church and state is not about your religious beliefs influencing your position, it's about whether or not your position imposes your beliefs directly onto others.
I think people shouldn't kill because Jesus said so. = not a violation of church and state
I think people in prison should be forced to read the Bible. = a violation of church and state
