I will say they're stuck with renovations.. would be terrible to put 100 million in the stadium for it to go back to friends and family only in attendance. They lose a lot of money now, but that'd be a disaster.

Hopefully CBB TV contracts expand, or MLB steps in and dumps some money into CBB, as it's a developmental system for them.

It was a disappointing result but I suppose hosting and winning a regional in your championship defense is actually quite rare. And making a Super Regional while losing to who I presume is the remaining favorite is a pretty good result given how we played in April and May.

Farewell to Hunter Endsley who has two of the all time Tennessee baseball plays to his credit. Hopefully next year they can make it to Omaha.

100% spot on.
Not as much room for error with this years team, especially in league play. You’ll have that even with the best teams. There’s plenty of talent now and incoming, but there’s no substitute for experience, and they lost a lot last year. I’m awfully proud of these guys.
For the CWS, my two favorite teams are Coastal and whoever played Arkansas.

I could be wrong, but I've read that there are a few teams. UCONN, SCAR, LSU that have turned a profile. IMO if Kim gets the ladies going I think TN could.

I don’t know much about the other teams we’ve played… but was Arkansas just a bad matchup for us? I felt our hitters just couldn’t get things going against their pitchers. Vols seem like they are power hitter types… maybe they schemed us up perfectly?

I don’t think they were a terrible matchup at all. It was self inflicted by us mostly. The bats just went completely cold until near the end. Tony is the best coach out there and I understand his level of loyalty, but he stuck with Bargo, Chapman, etc. for way longer than he usually has previously. I guess there’s a reason for that, but Abernathy and Newstrom get thrown in late and all of a sudden the offense looks like it has a pulse. I definitely would’ve did things different with the lineup a while back. Overall a good season though, this staff will continue to stack talent and I’m looking forward to next season.

Arkansas also loses money on baseball, according to their financial reports. They don't lose quite as much as we do ($2.5 million lost vs. $3.7 million lost), but they still operate at a net loss in a sport they claim to "own"

I am so disappointed that the season is over; not toward the team, just love watching our guys in the CWS because it's a lot of fun (and with the Braves being down there isn't much in way of sports for me to enjoy this summer). In any case, with the amount of talent that we lost after last season, making the super was nothing to be upset about. Especially since we were the first defending champs to do so in 7 years. It's not easy. Develop over the offseason and let's make a run next year. Onward and upward.

I think that’s the misconception. Tony acknowledging that DVH has 3 grandkids to occupy him and giving him a healthy perspective on what matters is a sliver if nothing else.
