So why on earth are the police acting as an arm of the federal government in these ICE protests?

They swear to upohold the constitution, which does not say "thou shalt not annoy ICE." ICE is circumventing due process. They are not upholding the constitution. We know they can't be trusted.

And every clip I see, whether it's LA or Minneapolis, the police are taking the federal government's side against their own people. We are so, so ****ed. The deck is so, so stacked. And nobody in here (a board full of people who claim to believe in federalism and sovereignty on the local level) has even thought about this from this perspective, I bet.

ICE can shoot peaceful protesters with rubber bullets, use flash bangs, etc. And nothing they do will ever get a policeman to take his people's side.

Just remember, the police don't serve the public. Ultimately, they serve the empire.

My guess is it's semantics. If eggs were 2 dollars a dozen and now they are 10 dollars a dozen that's a 400% increase from 2 dollars. So whatever cost he's referencing is %s. If eggs were $10 and now they are $2, most people would say price dropped 80%. But paying 2 is also a decrease of 400% from paying 10.

This was a gripe of mine from a lot of the covid number's referenced a few years ago. Someone was posting articles referencing a percentage increase of cases with no actual numbers listed. It was always something like "cases surged 30% over the past 2 weeks in x city/county". Ok so we could have gone from 20 cases of Covid to 26. No big deal.
