Recruiting Football Talk VIII

My friends and I figured it out about a year after it came out. Was probably in 8th grade. Not sure exactly what he was talking about, but knew it was drug related. But yes, it continues to get a lot of folks.

The new generation is just now realizing "Pumped Up Kicks" is basically a school shooting scenario. Not sure what they thought he was talking about having a gun and kids running, but yeah another upbeat sounding song that is darker than if you just hum along and don't listen too closely.
Some of those old songs that sounds like James Brown are sick. Can't believe they put that stuff on the radio.

Read the lyrics of "I Gotcha" by Joe Tex. Insane.

SEC probably gets only 2 CWS teams this year.

I believe LSU beats West Virginia in Supers
Tennessee beats Arkansas in Supers.

Coastal Carolina with the second best team era in America Knocks off Auburn in Supers.
The way that the brackets are setup, it’s almost like they want to limit the number of SEC teams in the CWS. The bracket is set that the winner of arkansas-Tennessee plays the winner of lsu-West virginia. If Coastal Carolina wins, then potentially only one SEC team or at best two will advance into the bracket…

Kinda pisses me off. Unless the one team is Tennessee, then I don’t care.

Have you ever actually listened to the lyrics of Third Eye Blind's "Semi Charmed Life" song, specifically the 2nd verse? 3rd or 4th verse is. . . different too. . . *just read them all, that whole song is jacked up, 😂

"The sky was gold, it was rose
I was taking sips of it through my nose
And I wish I could get back there, someplace back there
Smiling in the pictures you would take
Doing crystal meth, will lift you up until you break
It won't stop, I won't come down
I keep stock with a tick-tock rhythm, a bump for the drop
And then I bumped up, I took the hit that I was given
Then I bumped again, then I bumped again
I said. . . "

There are some really popular songs we've all heard that have really messed up lyrics when you actually listen closely to them. This dude on IG makes videos pointing them out.
In fairness... He wants something else.

The issue is that there were tons of other SEC teams in those other brackets, and they all got knocked out in the regionals.

I love that band, but wow a lot of their lyrics are twisted. These are tame compared to some of them.

That song came out long before meth became such a national issue/problem. Meth is one of those drugs that took off with certain groups -e.g. certain WWII soldiers, certain hippie circles, and decades later as a club drug - but didn't really take off as a common drug of abuse everywhere until much later. Still wild but I kinda doubt they'd have been bragging about meth today because its rep today is far more white trash than it was back then.

Wasn't meth just called speed or crank in the 70s & 80s? Or is that something different?
