So why on earth are the police acting as an arm of the federal government in these ICE protests?

They swear to upohold the constitution, which does not say "thou shalt not annoy ICE." ICE is circumventing due process. They are not upholding the constitution. We know they can't be trusted.

And every clip I see, whether it's LA or Minneapolis, the police are taking the federal government's side against their own people. We are so, so ****ed. The deck is so, so stacked. And nobody in here (a board full of people who claim to believe in federalism and sovereignty on the local level) has even thought about this from this perspective, I bet.

The hypocrisy is complaining about someone waving a foreign flag while your political party generally supports the flying the most anti-American of the flag seditious traitors to the constitution that was the CSA.

They weren’t traitors nor were they seditious. They never tried to overthrow the government or violated the constitution.

I'll let you think about why Americans flying the CSA flag is less anti-American than Mexicans (illegal or otherwise) flying the Mexican flag. I'm sure you'll eventually figure it out.

Every single CSA general who was originally in the US Army, and every single representative of a CSA state who held federal office took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, and every one of them broke that oath. Which is why it required the Amnesty Act of 1872 for them to be able to hold any sort of office again.

So yes, they were seditious traitors.

I personally don't care what flag people fly.

I wasn't the one complaining, just the one pointing out the hypocrisy doing so when every MAGA event is littered with confederate battle flags.

Wait until they find out I got a hat with a Mexican flag on it.

Don't worry. I got my American iconography, too. Not the American flag, no. Trump has ruined that brand for now. Can't risk being confused for one of those people who don't care about restrained government, the constitution, or decency towards immigrants who helped build this country. The Statue of Liberty is the suitable symbol for my brand of American patriotism right now.

When the American flag stops representing an admin that has no respect for the bill of rights, I'll gladly wear it again.
