Coco Gauff Throws Shade At Donald Trump and opens up on 'dark times' for America after French Open triumph

Coco Gauff revealed she was driven to her French Open title by a desire to give Americans something to smile about during dark times.

Asked how it felt to hear the US national anthem after her 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 defeat of Aryna Sabalenka, the 21-year-old said: 'It means a lot. Obviously there's a lot going on in our country right now.

'To be able to be a representation of people that look like me in America who maybe don't feel as supported during this time period, and so just being that reflection of hope and light for those people.

'I remember after the election and everything, it kind of felt like a down period. My mom told me during Riyadh (the WTA Finals in November, which Gauff won), "Try to win the tournament to give something for people to smile for". So that's what I was thinking about today when holding the trophy.

'And seeing the flags in the crowd means a lot. Some people may feel some type of way about being patriotic, but I'm definitely patriotic and proud to be American. I'm proud to represent the Americans that look like me and people who kind of support the things that I support.'

After Donald Trump won his second term, she tweeted: 'Allow yourself to feel how you feel during tough times... especially today. Just lean on God with your concerns. He is the highest power. Remember that.'

Donald Trump throws shade at CoCo and her dark times, walking out to USA chants. A man of the people, not just those that look like her.

He says the army gave away MRAPS because they were perceived to be too oppressive and threatening by locals in Iraq in Afghanistan.

So now ICE is using them in LA with other paramilitary tactics, rolling in like an occupying army, and surprise surprise, things got out of control.

lol the people of LA are so oppressed

ICE agents concealing their faces during raids seems more like an effort to shield themselves from being held individually accountable for any potential actions involving an excessive use of force, than it is to supposedly protect them from retribution.

Weird to say while people from your side are simultaneously sharing numerous videos of ice agents being attacked

Did you know in an MRAP you hardly notice the impact when rolling over a crowd of people?

We have liberal posters here who believe it’s 1A to wear a mask. It’s a right, if you need a reminder you can view the stances under the “UT gets warning to protect Jews” thread for reference.

Anyone feeling oppressive by this is probably the ones they are looking for.

Completely separate issue. U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulations require law enforcement to properly identify themselves and limit the use of face coverings during official operations.

Limit? Can we get dimensions.

Badges could also be tucked inside the jacket, pocket etc.

I don’t understand why these people are being seen as rioters. They’re just peaceful protestors taking a tour of Los Angeles. They’re on public streets as is there right. The people causing and committing violence are alphabet agency minions performing a psyop.

Am I doing this right?

It’s the waving the Mexico flag, fires, fireworks, looting and not moving. Almost seems as though they want the consequences.
I have always believed this was the route it was going to go. Democrats can not win on issues so they will go with resistance in the courts first and now the streets.

There have also been a number of "ICE agents" who weren't actually ICE agents

Police answer to their chief.

Their chief answers to the local mayor.

The mayor answers to the people of his city.

So why on earth are the police acting as an arm of the federal government in these ICE protests?

They swear to upohold the constitution, which does not say "thou shalt not annoy ICE." ICE is circumventing due process. They are not upholding the constitution. We know they can't be trusted.

And every clip I see, whether it's LA or Minneapolis, the police are taking the federal government's side against their own people. We are so, so ****ed. The deck is so, so stacked. And nobody in here (a board full of people who claim to believe in federalism and sovereignty on the local level) has even thought about this from this perspective, I bet.

ICE can shoot peaceful protesters with rubber bullets, use flash bangs, etc. And nothing they do will ever get a policeman to take his people's side.

Just remember, the police don't serve the public. Ultimately, they serve the empire.

Long live the Empire
Might want to leave Minneapolis out of your stance. Walz had his police/NG shoot at his voters standing on their own porch. Patrolling the streets in military vehicle.
