One of the chaperones had her purse stolen during dinner one night in Paris. We were kind of secluded in an upper banquet room. I didn't see anyone come into the room besides the waiters and another small group that was there to eat but the manager said they "saw a guy on video take it" 🤔. I got "bumped" by a waiter on the stairwell leaving the same place and checked my pockets before I let him out of my sight. I thought the whole wait staff was shadey there.


Italy had a lot of the shell game going. And we had a girl get her money stolen in Florence. She had it in her hand and the street vendor took it and ran (is the story I got). My son was wearing a silver bracelet and apple watch and we had someone walk up trying to put another bracelet on him. I was slapping the guys hands away and trying not to kick him in the nads.

Everywhere had it's share of pick pockets. We had a day trip to Pienza (where they filmed Maximus walking home in Gladiator) and that was probably the most relaxed I was walking around.

It's probably like that in most international tourists spots. Probably like that in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge to some extent.

Those shell game guys are a gang of like 15-20 con artists. Can't believe people still fall for it.

. . . you reminded me of when I was at the Underground once. I danced with a girl and felt her trying to lift my wallet. Thankfully I had one of those long wallets and she couldn't get it easily. . . I found my buddy right after and said she tried to rob me. He checked his pocket and his wallet was gone. What's worse, we knew the girl well, went to school with her from probably 3rd grade. Ended up finding his wallet in the trash can by the bathrooms, empty, of course.
