The Atlanta Braves

It's going to be interesting because they need Ozuna. But I believe the plan would be Murphy/Baldwin DH/C combo in 2026, which would make sense.
You give up a ton of value from each of them if they aren’t behind the plate. A good hitting catcher is not a good hitting DH.

Craig Counsell isn’t leaving Chicago

Would be interested in Gabe Kapler and Skip Schumaker

The absolute worst case scenario has to be bringing Wash back. If they get beyond Wash, fire everyone associated with baseball decision making.

They’re not going to upgrade when Snit leaves.

In addition to just not participating in free agency, weird drafting strategies and a lifeless locker room, they’re terrible at hiring.

The current hitting coach hire is not giving me the warm and fuzzies about next year's manager choice.

Since 2017, SEC teams have represented 43% of the teams that have made it to Omaha (24 out of 56) and have won 6 of the 7 national titles during that time. The year an SEC team didn't win it, they were runner-up (Arkansas, 2018).

I do wonder if Snit's malaise this year is because he knows he is retiring, OR he doesn't want to retire but he knows it is his last year. I'm starting to wonder if it's the second.

That's a good point. It does seem possible that his fate was sealed after failing to advance in the playoffs in 2023 and 2024 - not going to fire him, but he came into this season without an extension beyond this season.

I guess it is possible he would have been energized had they gotten off to a better start. He made that very non-committal statement about managing beyond this year after that pitiful series in SD. At this point, given the statements he's made, I wonder if they wouldn't even bring him back for 2026 even if they went on a massive heater.

Not a coincidence the post wash product has been terrible imo

Eddie Perez is still in the organization and I wouldn’t be surprised if Travis d’Arnaud got an interview. Weiss may have a shot since he’s been around so long.

Wash gone
Freddie gone
Dansby gone

Perhaps the biggest reason though is that so many regulars have not performed, been hurt, or both. There has been nothing special about the performances of Olson, Ozzie, Riley, and Michael Harris for a while now. The only hitter who has been consistently healthy and performed for the last year and a half is Ozuna.
