I agree with you regarding hating the picking and choosing of winners and losers, but all tax policies do that unless you just eliminate tax deductions and credits and lower the tax rates.

I mean every business that acquires intangibles during an acquisition gets to amortize them. You can buy a strip club and can amortize any intangibles but sports owners cant....

Now, whether or not allowing amortization for certain types of intangibles is another matter all together....
