Recruiting Football Talk VIII

It wasn’t THAT long ago that we used to take the day off of work, grab a few pizzas and gather at a buddy’s house with our laptops. We’d follow all of the surprise commitments, rumors, and live announcements. It really was like a holiday. It was hard to beat the NSD that Kiffin was here. Shock and awe around every turn.

I’m happy and excited. Looking forward to it. No anxiety. Viewing it as all upside. Plus extra baseball with our Vols. LFG!
Listen, if you’re not stressing out, mistreating your family, and wanting someone fired already, are you really that excited?😅

If we can figure out day three pitching and tighten up the relievers and defense b we are as good as anyone in the country. Youth for sure..... But the talent is there.

If it doesn't pay off this year it will next year. Let it roll!
I think the last outing for AJ shows he is going to get the start as the day 3 starter.

Among many reasons... He's a bad guy because (IMO) he colluded with a rival coach of UT's, who had lost a recruiting battle with us, to send the NCAA in to damage us over a plane ride. This after saying something had to be done or the SEC's greatest coach may retire. Also, in that same interview he said Alabama and Georgia were the centerpieces of the conference, implying that they needed to be taken care of.

I think you have to go by committee in regional and limit pitch count so you win, but have your best guys not rusty and also not worn out for the supers.

Really hope we can breeze through game 1 and not have to go to a game 7 in regionals.

Will need Doyle fresh in a series with Arkansas in Fayetteville if that’s how it plays out.

Also not like you go making big changes from what you’ve been doing. That said, if the errors continue and we can’t close out games, it will be a long regional and low odds of making Omaha.
Would love to see Doyle go back to Arkansas.

I think he will have a massive chip on his shoulder.

Thats how we treated the NFL draft when it was on Saturday and Sunday. Such a nerdy "mens" holiday. We'd get together, play some spades and poker, order some pizza, drink and talk trash, and just enjoy the entire day of draft picks.

Just doesn't hit the same on a thursday - at all.

May 27, 2025: You will be inclined to stew and fret about what you need to do, but agonizing will not help. Believe in the Lord, and in His ability to show you the way and give you precise directions. Christ will not leave you nor forsake you. Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.

Prayers for all.
Thanks, man. He passed a year ago January.

NPH is weird. I had never heard of it until he was diagnosed with it. It has dementia-like symptoms. Basically, your cranium stops draining the natural fluids your body creates to cushion your brain. They implant a shunt to help drain the retained fluid, but that’s a temporary solution.
