Apple is the only US cell phone 'manufacturer'. Spyware is a distinct danger in our devices, so manufacture in China is a national security interest. As a matter of fact, I was just reading an article that a HUGE % of Chinese manufactured solar equipment have been found to have hard-wired rogue communications back to China. IOW, China likes to spy on us via the tech equipment that they produce.

Donald Trump clearly defended the outsourcing of manufacturing in that interview, when he plainly said, "Well, that's good. We employ people in Bangladesh. They have to work too."

That quote is incongruous with the current stance that Donald Trump has taken with Apple.

I never claimed there is anything wrong with the word "should". It's a very important word IMHO. There is nothing wrong with the word "should" as long as you've made a cogent argument that confirms support for the legal, ethical, or moral claim. Otherwise, you're just positing your opinion as fact--your preference as law.

Good luck..he is just gonna continue posting the same quote....without the rest of the interview...claim Trump's a hypocrite from 2008..like all political figures are not hypothetical..m the. When presented with alternatives that dispute his claims he ignores them..and changes it's a step towards authoritarianism not that it is.

For one thing, the rest of that interview does not change Donald Trump's defense of outsourcing. Trump threw in some negative comments about China, but his defense of outsourcing was very clear throughout, and that makes his current demands of Apple very hypocritical.

If you don't think that Republicans have used quotes against Democrats that were made in years past, and also made while the Democrat was working in the private sector? Then you are kidding yourself.

Trump's hypocrisy is highly relevant to this discussion, and that hypocrisy could not be any more evident.

Trump's hypocrisy is not a diversion. His hypocrisy is highly relevant to the discussion of the threats he has lodged against Apple.

A more skilled negotiator than Donald Trump, would not have to resort to making public threats, in order to get what he wants, anyway.

You are reaching. He was blindsided by Letterman about a product he allowed to use his name. He said he didn't know where they were made, and needed them made in America. He also said that the rules make companies want to manufacture products overseas. He felt that Mitt Romney would try to fix the situation.
