You would think Auburn would be the ones switched with Georgia as a fringe top 8 seed as Auburn has 1 Q3 loss and 3 Q4 losses. The thing that has helped them is the #1 SOS. Ultimately it looks like the SEC will get 6 of the 8 top seeds, 8 regional hosts overall. 13-bid league, possibly 14 if A&M wins the tournament.

The folks from Oklahoma are the true real Texans. The settlers are ones that fled Texas when Santa Ana said he was coming.

Mention that to Texans if you want to shut them up, or start a fight.

Follow with there were zero Texans that fought at the Alamo. By the way there was one soldier from Denmark at the Alamo. (We hosted an exchange student from Denmark, she was so proud.)

Tennessee had to save there butts, South Carolina and Ohio as well. And if they had not the University of Texas would be known as the University of Mexico.

The University of Tennessee was an institution 51 years before Texas was a state.

There is way more history than one collegiate season.

When my kids were in school and had to learn Texas history I told them to ask about these things to their teacher. None of this stuff was ever mentioned. I told them to ask why.

As a side note, Texas was not a state when the Battle of the Alamo happened, thus no Texans. But Texans aren’t smart enough to ever bring that argument to the table. Their feathers get ruffled and they get all flustered.

A casual observer, bandwagon fan and a troll will vacillate between positions based on a single result or season of results.

An actual fan/fanatic never changes their opinion that their school is the best.

Who wins the Director's Cup has nothing to do with identifying the real UT in the minds of Tennessee fans. TX has had a great year in sports, whooopppiiiieee. But acknowledging that doesn't obligate TN fans to change their position on who holds the title of real UT.

I know I’m not that old but man we sure do live in a different time even compared to whenever I was growing up. This is all barbershop talk as far as I am concerned and nobody should ever be taken too literally. Everyone always has their pitchforks attached their body at all times ready to go.

An actual fan never says their team is ALWAYS the best. A true objective fan realizes the downfalls of their team. Does anyone here truly believe we have been the best team in the country this season? Because if you answer “yes” then you really aren’t being objective on the matter. We’ve been about a top 15 team this season. And that is coming from an actual fan.

Have we been the best to date, no. But, the number #1 team has yet to be decided.

Tennessee is the reigning National Champions in baseball until we aren’t.

Fair point. I agree, we've not objectively performed like the best team in the country. Over the course of the year, I'd agree with your top 15 assessment. The last few weeks... at times even that has been iffy.

Best wasn't a good word to use in that context. I was trying to point out that to most fans those are two different arguments. One is emotion based (who's the real UT), and the other is fact based (who's had the better year).

Are you my husband’s brother? 🤨 I hear this all the time! Worst thing the SEC ever did was let Tejas and Oklahoma in, well also A&M, Mizzou and Arkansas.
