FYI, that isn’t technically even in the BBB because that tax change apparently can’t be enacted through the reconciliation process. As a result, they instead added $1,000 to the standard deduction for those 63 or older.

The cap for SSA taxable earnings at most should be 50%. I can at least make sense of that from a theory standpoint.

Im sure you made good money as a pilot. Even drawing at 62, I would bet you will have to live close to or slightly beyond average life expectancy to "break even" once you factor in employer contributions.

0% on SSA makes a whole lot more sense than 0% on tips or 0% on OT....

The 258 billion is from IRS receipts from people paying the IRS for what they made in 2024. This isnt the flex the red hatters think it is...

The surplus does show people can pay their taxes which some were struggling with. It is a positive and people are working again.

Business pay tax quarterly so it does show things are looking better.
