Since you're 8, let me explain this.

It's a message board...every person here is just either looking for information about the Vols and/or wanting to share information about the Vols.

The strange thing is the amount of people that seem to want to "out" folks because of where they get the information. If I hear something at Target waiting in line that I share here do I need to cite and share the location of said Target and what time I was there for the information I share to be better somehow?

Also...in this specific situation the actual insider on Trilly discord likely doesn't want to be connected to it being share OUTSIDE of that discord anyway. Might lead to them being accused of sharing it elsewhere etc. and getting themselves banned when they had nothing to do with it (if Trilly is as strict as stated by others).

That’s my thought, I’m about to go spend the $10 to find out real quick…be pretty easy to see if JFHoops brought the info the the discord and 10 minutes later it was on VN what was going on. Then again maybe it was here first and JFHoops read it here and actually took that to the discord

I don't have access to the Discord or whatever that is. Kirk brought the info here and has brought the excitement. Maybe his "source" is the guy on the Discord. I don't care. I have the info now thanks to Kirk, so how bout not being the arse and scroll on.

I will say, the Vols landing Ament has opened (and likely re-opened) some doors that we thought closed.

Some of these players in the combines (G-League & NBA) that have eligibility left are paying attention. Cause Chaz Lanier (a 5th year guy) DID increase his draft stock from 1 year with the Vols. Last year Dalton Knecht did the same thing.

Barnes has create a now proof of concept for his "we can make you a better player for the next level" and not just the NBA...some guys are more than happy to continue playing professional outside the US and making six figures each year to do it. We've got a host of Vols doing that too.

So regardless of who is the source of information, I am just excited to see that guys being told by NBA scouts they need more work are looking at Rocky Top as a spot to help them get it.

Are you telling me that I thought I was getting vague hints of insider information from ONE anonymous internet poster, and all this time I was really getting vague hints of insider information from a DIFFERENT anonymous internet poster??

This is a disaster. I need to rethink everything.

I've been re-reading Marshall McLuhan the past two weeks, so it's on my mind to observe that:

In an information saturated world, it has been quite novel to have a situation* where information is sparse. I think that aspect of this thread has attracted as much attention/enjoyment/frustration as what this will ultimately mean to the basketball team next season.

*That is, a situation that doesn't involve things that are actually important.

We're quite accustomed to sparse information about assassinations of leaders, "suicides" of people who know things, global economic decisions, DOGE's real or imagined mission, who was making decisions in the previous administration, who was making foreign policy decisions in any administration, etc., ad infinitum.

You are going a long ways to show everyone the truth about the fact that the poster is not actually Todd Kirk. 🤣 Did you think that people reading his posts on here thought that was his real name? That seems like an odd thing to choose to get on your soapbox about.

I care about how the University of Tennessee performs. Period.

Because of that, I watch for news that might have some bearing on that performance. I assume that with information has an angle, therefore it's my responsibility as the reader to add the grain of salt. If someone bringing info is self-promoting or manipulative, then okay, I get tearing down the charade. But I haven't seen the TK poster do either. So why attack unless you're trying to either limit information or gain influence for yourself. Who knows, you could be an AD or VQ directed minion trying to insert misinformation because the AD has gone overboard trying to control information.

Leave people alone. Let them post. Let readers use their brains to decide how must stock we put in the info. If we're stupid we'll get duped and hopefully we'll learn something from that. It's not hard to exercise a little patience and reasoning and figure out who should be read and who should be ignored. We don't need poster police outside of what the board already has.
