OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Hog fans suck so bad. Vols batter has a problem w/his helmet & walks over to get another one from the dugout & they boo him until he gets back into the batters box. I said earlier I hate these people. They are so mean & rude to us.

No Man's Land Ball Park.

Metropolitan Stadium, Bloomington, MN, 1956 - After seeing the Braves relocate from Boston to Milwaukee in 1953, city officials from Minneapolis got energized and started exploring building a new modern ballpark in hopes of doing the same. Neither of the two minor league parks (Nicollet Park and Lexington Park) in the area was adequate to be temporary homes for an MLB team, so if Minneapolis wanted a team, they had to be proactive go with the thought process of "If you build it, they will come.".
And it worked.
After purchasing 160 acres of farmland in nearby Bloomington, construction would start in June of 1955 and Metropolitan Stadium would be completed in less than a year. They built it and indeed they did come. First it was the New York Giants who showed in interest, but in the end, it would be the Washington Senators choosing the Land of 10,000 Lakes as their new home and moving in time for the 1961 season.

Cool story, bro.

Fun Fact: The announcers said Levi Clark was a catcher by trade. But for now is a DH.
The first I had heard that about Levi Clark playing the catcher position.
Well he was one of the top C in GA as a high schooler. He’s C a few innings in midweek games as the 3rd sting C.
