Recruiting Football Talk VIII

A large dark roast coffee, with shot of espresso. With 1 raw sugar. Sometimes no sugar.

If no coffee, unsweet tea. That's it. Unsweet tea.

Lawnmower, push. Non self propelled.

Saw, hand saw. Screwdriver, no power tools.

Rake, no blower. Yard work, no skid steer.

The last one is true. My wheelbarrows are broken. And I own no power tools, bc i'm cheap.

Which one of you drink iced coffee?

I do like those monster energy "mean bean" and "Loca moca" java monsters. They have to be really bad for you though and they charge way too much for them. . . sometimes the dollar general has them 2 for $5. I get a couple a month if they're on sale. . . the old lady gets one from Sonic that's pretty decent too. . . I just make sure a man made it when she buys one. . .

Our HR is off-site. Been talking to them. I think we'll figure something out.
quick story...this is probably 15 years ago, working for a different company back then...but i was the GM of the site, and i caught one of my sales people selling pills in the parking lot at work.

so i wrote him up, filled out the discharge paperwork and was about to call the police and have him arrested. i was on the phone with HR, and my cell phone rang. it was the owner of the company, who i reported to directly, and he basically said "hey, this guy is your best sales rep, are you sure this is the right thing to do? i mean, after all, what would God want you to do here?"

my reply, as sarcastically as i could, "probably get a drug dealer off the street.....unless his numbers are good?"

lol.

i knew after that my time was short with that company. and i learned right then...always get someone else involved....you need witnesses.......... :)

Just Black
Freedom Roast
Kodiak Attack
Loyalty roast
Spirit of 76
Silencer Smooth
gunship

All good, medium and light roasts.
Haven't seen a single person say they drink their local coffee shop beans. I'd have bet money a large minority of people didn't buy coffee at the grocery store anymore. Shows what a non coffee drinker knows about you people.

how much coffee do you drink? Does it have to be a certain brand?
Yes and yes. Stong malty black tea imported from estates in Assam, India. Usually 4 cups. Sometimes at night I have a lighter tea like Darjeeling first flush. If I still drank coffee, I would go with a local roaster. I drank dark roast.

We usually buy the large, tall container of Folgers at Sam's or Costco basically because it's cheaper than most. I drink mine straight black with no sweeteners and I will have 8-10 cups per day usually. We eat very little ketchup but, when we do, it's Heinz. Heck, I rarely even put ketchup on fries or tots.

Holy smoke, 8+ cups a day?!

Ok. . . man at work breaks his mouse so you let him borrow your wireless mouse. They leave to go to a jobsite. You go into their office to get the mouse and notice an oddly ripped piece of paper laying on the desk. You pick it up and there is crushed powder underneath it.

You call the guy back to the office and he explains that it's adderall he has a prescription for. Do you fire him on the spot? You have to right, even if he's been a good worker for years? Do you right him up and make him go to counseling or something?

*for educational purposes only
I guess now you know why he’s been a good worker…

In order:
1. HR training: no snorting of any substance in office. He misses training, fahred.
2. Test the substance. If it’s adderall, demand prescription. If not, fahred.
3. If he has the prescription, make him go to counseling. If he doesn’t, fahred.
4. Invite him out Saturday night and demand he bring the goods. If he refuses, fahred.

It seems like successful sales reps can get away with just about anything.

I tell him that he must call his doc immediately to see about upping his dose to 2 per day. Then instruct him to take the extra pill per day and sell them to college kids. We split the money 80/20 with me getting 80.

He agrees to these terms OR he’s fired.

If it’s not adderall, no big deal, just repeat steps above 😁

This is a solid plan and the proper use of “leverage”. Children, take note.

8-10 cups a day? Good lawd. So when they draw your blood, it's almost all 'black' and highly caffeineted.
