So many big plays last night. Aside from the HR's, maybe the biggest in my mind was Marin's 2-run single with 2 outs in the 4th (I think it was the 4th). Yeah, the SS could have made that play, but he didn't. We were in desperate need of someone coming up with a clutch hit, and I think that really gave us a big boost.
Also, the play when we threw out the guy at home that ended the inning instead of Arkansas going up 3-1 and still batting. Every angle of that replay changed whether I thought he was actually safe or out. I think his foot might have gotten in there ahead of the tag, but it was really close.
Finally, I'll throw in the last out of the game. That was a really, really nice play by Snead. He could have easily put that thing in right field, and if he did, it's 10-8 with the tying run at bat.
I wasn't going to mention the weird liner that AA "caught", but here's my thought on it. I think Arkansas fans feel like they got screwed on that play, but if the ump had ruled no catch, I think it turns into a double play because AA wouldn't have thrown to 1st (I hope). He would have gone to 3rd, and then Marin would have thrown to 2nd (I hope). If AA had actually caught it like he should have, it would have also been an easy DP because he could have just stepped on 2nd. We've got to clean some of this stuff up, but at this point I think errors are just sort of baked into who we are this season. It was nice to see our opponent go bad little league fielding there in the 9th for a change.
