That’s pretty cool! Did you get any hookups as far as shows or backstage passes?
My grandmother always liked Conway and I remember looking at her albums and making fun of his name when I was little.
😁
She did get me a gazillion cassettes of music from everyone. She had quite a few well known artists, but then got tired of egos and money. She sold her half of the pr firm to her partner. I wanted her life, she wanted mine! Mine being retired teacher, in her words, “you help people, I just deal with people wanting more money.” She’s a retired nurse now.

We all dream of fame and fortune but I’m sure the reality is not as glamorous as it seems.

The reason I heard that he (Joe Don Baker) never did those Walking Tall II & III movies was bc
he couldn't stomach the real life that Buford Pusser had to deal with on a daily basis.
He didn't want to portray anymore of his character in the movies bc it was so violent.
They filmed those movies here in Jackson & in Henderson, TN. I stumbled across them shooting a scene down in Henderson one day when I was out driving around in the area. Didn't get to meet Joe Don Baker that day but his replacement Bo Svenson in Walking Tall Part II along w/his deputy actor Bruce Glover. I became a big Joe Don Baker fan after that first movie came out. The City of Selmer, TN. didn't want Bing Crosby Productions to film the life of Sheriff Pusser bc they were afraid it would leave them a black eye on their city. So they picked Jackson & Henderson & the surrounding area for the film. I had some coworkers that played some extra deputies in the Part 2 & Part 3 movies. That's a great picture of Joe Don Baker above. He was an unknown actor before the movie came out. He rocketed to Hollywood fame after the first movie was released.

I thought you'd like that. :) There's more to the stories I wanted to share.
But, I didn't want to bore everyone. Before the first movie was made Joe Don and Buford would talk about his rugged real bloody life experience. Joe Don was so shocked to hear about the part where they (mafia thugs) sliced him up real bad in that bar scene & dumped him out on highway 45 in the rain to die he almost turned the whole movie role down then. Buford Pusser was a consultant in the first movie.
