Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Really just gives Aguilar an extra month or so to have the playbook in his hand.

Preseason camp will be end of July....but had he not been a graduate transfer he would have been stuck at UCLA until their semester ended in June.

So he basically can start learning plays, doing individual workouts and likely getting with teammates for informal throwing sessions...the sort of stuff Nico apparently never did while here during this dead period.
Who are the individual workouts with? He’s not allowed to be worked out by someone on staff I would presume.

People can say what they want. But any QB that has ever has success was on same page with his WRs, which took countless reps. You can tell Nico and his WR were not on same page, meqning he couldnt anticipate cause he didnt know nor did they.

I do, too, but sometimes influence needs to be exerted. The LIV situation has always been ridiculous.
Golf, or any recreational activity that doesn't harm or help anyone beyond entertainment, is not an example where government needs to exert influence. It's a game. None of the players involved were being used unfairly or illegally like college athletes.

Agreed. Just not the right place for state involvement.

Forget what I said. Break out the nukes.

I disagree, especially the source of funding for LIV. Like it or not, politics are inherently involved. There are things in our country that are worth protecting. Trade policies and many other policies either way just don’t involve sports. Sports are not just entertainment- it’s economics, too.

That's taking it a little too far. The PGA is not worth government intervention.

Shoeless Joe Jackson and Pete Rose now eligible for Baseball Hall of Fame..
Good for them. I’ll take this opportunity to make an announcement -

We haven’t hit Memorial Day yet, and Aaron Judge has already posted 3.5 WAR. He’s sporting a 266 OPS+

Ruthian numbers.

^^^ This - no doubt.

Deep routes require good timing. This O scheme in particular needs completed deep balls to work effectively. QBs need to anticipate without hesitation, WR's need to get to the spot and compete for the ball. It takes both doing their jobs. Nico did not get that aspect of his job done well. All are to blame including O-line play, but we frequently saw ample QB time with WR's open and the ball sailing away from them with late passes. Frustrating.

Heup can dial back the pass distance/routes with quicker releases and good timing. A 30 yard pass hit more quickly can turn into the 50+ yard bomb if the QB/WRs are on the same page. That's what I hope Aguilar can do well and get this O moving again. That's what I saw in G-Mac in the O/W game. Quicker reads, decisions and accurate delivery.

As you say - countless reps. Get it done with all three QB's.
