The Atlanta Braves

I think you just have to pull for the logo and enjoy the ride. Can’t invest in the roster much anymore. Really, basketball has been like that for years anyway.

When Nate Ament committed, I went on YouTube and watched highlights and tried to remember the last time I watched a Tennessee signee's highlights for basketball and decided on Kennedy Chandler a few years ago.

I will watch college football because I'm a football addict and Saturdays in the Fall with football are all I know (I also have zero kids. I'm sure with kids that time would fill up a lot easier).

I do not watch college basketball outside of Tennessee/Michigan. The officiating and excess 3's make it an unwatchable product.
I don’t know what basketball in general does about all the 3’s. I get why positionless basketball is a thing, but it sure detracts from the entertainment.

Meh, I just take the kids with me 😂

Steph Curry is one of the best basketball players of all time. Probably the best shooter of all time.

Also.

Steph Curry ruined the game of basketball. He’s 1 of 1 and now every person that picks up a basketball thinks that once they cross half-court, they’re in range and wide open.

Level of play / officiating for me

I will watch / cheer for the Power T in most anything. I have stopped paying attention to the collegiate sport landscape in everything but football though, and football is not far from completely falling off the radar too.
I am nearing this point which would’ve been unthinkable to me ten years ago. It’s just not the same anymore. We are performing as well as we ever have in the big three but it doesn’t have the “feel”. The magic is gone. And probably for good.

The thing about college baseball is that of the 3 major sports, it has the biggest gap between the pros and college, and I mean that in every regard. Not just quality of play on the field but also in the overall environment, stadiums, media coverage, officiating, etc.

In both college football and basketball, the big programs play in rowdier, more raucous, and oftentimes just outright larger environments than pro teams. The best players in any given year in those sports go pro the next season and make immediate, sometimes dramatic, impacts on their professional teams.

In contrast, the largest college baseball stadium in the country seats 15k people, and it is an outlier. Most are 10k or less, and most are smaller than AAA stadiums. The best players in any given college baseball season are not making an immediate impact in MLB the next season, with very few exceptions. A lot of the best high school talent does not even play college baseball (although this is becoming more the case in basketball too).

I've gotten more into college baseball over the last several seasons, but admittedly it is because Tennessee has been good. If you get a chance to go to Omaha though, you should go. That is a great event and Omaha knows how to put it on.

BTW..... I told yall NIL would kill college football

If you think NIL is "killing college football" I'd suggest you look at the expanded playoff ratings and some of the regular season games. It might be killing some of the spirit but college football is here to last.

If I learned anything over the last 20 years about sports, it is that this country LOVES good football.

I don't think so. The blowouts will have people turning out, and the apathy that you all feel will keep setting in. They need to make it way harder for kids to move.

The 1st round games might have been blowouts but the Quarters/Semis were pretty competitive. I agree that the NCAA has royally ****ed up everything but this idea it’s “killing college football” and that it won’t be around in 20 years is something I heard…20 years ago.

People have been saying "this is going to kill college football" at least since they started giving athletic scholarships.

They've been saying that since about 2016.
I'm not saying it won't be around.

I just don't think you'll see stadiums packed, people living and dying with it like they do. It will become corporate regulated BS just like the NFL

Do you see how much money the NFL makes a year? The conferences would have a field day if they are "just like the NFL" lol

If the NCAA had come out 15 years ago, allowed NIL and set transfer rules, everything would be fine. They didn't and now college football is suffering for it. It also doesn't help that greed from these university presidents and conferences have ruined tradition way more than NIL and the transfer portal. I'm way more offended we have six west coast teams playing in the Big Ten/ACC and 18 teams conferences than NIL and the transfer portal.
