pharmas have a right to patents as all other companies to protect their product whereby make a profit off of it.What? It will happen. At least for the last 4 or 5 decades, adequate generics have been effectively marketed to patients
The store brmd of Zrytec or Claritin is a whole hell of a lot cheaper than when it was a Rx..
Cutting off research $$$$$ is of far more concernpharmas have a right to patents as all other companies to protect their product whereby make profit off of it.
my point is if pharmas are not granted some protections and subsidized by gov't then new cures may never be found for cancer, diabetes etc.
You seem to have confused me for someone who cares about big pharma corps and their ledger. Maybe we don't need all these new drugs that do nothing but maintain the level of sickness in the country. They are not in the business to help peopleI'm not familiar with pharma business, so I assume they have big r&d cost even bigger cost without subsidies. They have to have prices to cover cost and r&d. if they do not make enough profit there may be a great slowdown in new R&D for new drugs,
so people should do without medications and die a natural death even at young ages? You seem to have confused me for someone who cares about big pharma corps and their ledger. No it doesn’t.Costco Generic Claritin (24 hr) is less than 3 cents a pill.
A 365 pill bottle cost less than my monthly co-pay did 15 yrs ago.
You need to be specific here on this one. Which drugs are you speaking of? I know for an absolute fact the development of heart drugs have extended livesYou seem to have confused me for someone who cares about big pharma corps and their ledger. No it doesn’t.
The cost is up.
The gleaning of insurance companies by pharmacies may be over and the artificially inflated prices may be gone but the price charged by the pharmaceutical companies has gone up.
And the additional kicker to all this….the Hemocyte plus I referenced earlier was manufactured by US pharmaceutical corporation. Can you guess who is the biggest manufacturer of the 2 biggest selling generics for Hemocyte plus?
Us pharmaceutical corporation (I **** you not)
I won't take the time to look it up the exact stats but decades ago a child at St Jude's had a very low chance of survival but pharma has made great strides where children today can effectively be cured of a cancer that decades ago was a death sentence.Or they could actually care about their health. Big pharma is not in the business of fixing anything they just want to bleed you longer
Again that’s not an accurate comparison. You’re comparing apples to basketballs. All I know is now I paid 9.99 for 365 pills when I used to have to pay $10 copay for 30...
You're nitpicking. I believe it was 70% of all pharma profits come from the usa and we have lower health outcomes. How could that be? It's because there is no desire to help people by pharma or many in the medical industryI won't take the time to look it up the exact stats but decades ago a child at St Jude's had a very low chance of survival but pharma has made great strides where children today can effectively be cured of a cancer that decades ago was a death sentence.
maybe doctors are to blame in over-prescribing meds to keep patients making office visits over and over.
And the side effects……You're nitpicking. I believe it was 70% of all pharma profits come from the usa and we have lower health outcomes. How could that be? It's because there is no desire to help people by pharma or many in the medical industry
if I understand you correctly, you are saying pharmas are staying in business by developing drugs that are not really needed but are used to just bleed people? no one is forced to buy/take meds. if a doc says you have an illness and need to take med x for it, then you can; You're nitpicking. The massive number of drugs in the market are used to simply make massive amounts of money. What if we didn't have the sugar industry writing food regs? How many fewer heart drugs would be needed? You need to be specific here on this one. Which drugs are you speaking of? I know for an absolute fact the development of heart drugs have extended lives
You're right they don't but they're sold with advertising and captured medical industry. Pair that with no one telling them to get healthy and off the drugs and you've got customers for a lifetime. It's not just one thingif I understand you correctly, you are saying pharmas are staying in business by developing drugs that are not really needed but are used to just bleed people? no one is forced to buy/take meds.
