President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Agreed but it’s so much larger than that.

It’s absolutely ridiculous what big pharmaceutical companies do. They’re the number one industry spending on advertising…..for things that require a Dr to prescribe. Not sure how we would address that legally either.

The health problems in the United States has a lot more to do with food than it does pharmaceutical…but that’s a whole other rabbit hole.
Agreed the food ind makes us sick as well. What's the common denominator? The usa federal gov't and here we are getting so much more of it from the current admin. Thought everyone promised they'd be different

If we're heading more toward government control, the first steps I would take would be to cap advertising spending (rather than prices) and consider shortening patent life.

Solar industry would cease to exist without subsidies. Personally I’d see that as a good thing in the residential market.

Look at history of the price of panels and the credit

As the tax credit goes down, the price goes down

As the tax credit goes up, the price goes up...

Very much like cigarettes…..who can’t legally advertise…..something that requires a Dr to prescribe, should not be marketed.

Just saying

He's kicking out voters?

Venezuelan-American voters are mad that he is ending the legal status of non-voting Venezuelan Americans. The dip$h!ts bought the line that he was against illegal immigration, not legal immigration.

As far as pattens are concerned……Generic drugs are not saving the money they should. Walgreens was caught recently selling a generic for Zoloft 9$ a month cheaper than the name brand. Their cost on the drugs……..the generic is 85$ cheaper per month.

If we want to make a dent, we put a maximum on the mark up for generic drugs

No they wouldnt. Let the market decide. No subsidies, no govt price controls

Its why solar prices have never come down. We keep subsidizing it...
I don't know.

Pharmas must spend billions on research, they would have to charge a lot to cover costs or they cut back on research and new medicines will not be discovered.

Food and medication are two necessary things that prices need to be kept low as possible.

I am not a big gov't person but the gov't should be involved in just a few things as a military to protect the nation, have court system so people can dispute their complaints, build roads, bridges, prison, etc and keep food and medication prices low.

Big pharma could be massively cut down without hurting the us pop. We'll, they'd need to actually care about their health but it could be done
I said this elsewhere on VN a couple days ago, but it’s ridiculous the difference in my shopping cart at the grocery store vs everyone else’s.

Let the market decide. If there's enough of a market, price will go down naturally as generics are rolled out...

I'm not familiar with pharma business, so I assume they have big r&d cost even bigger cost without subsidies. They have to have prices to cover cost and r&d. if they do not make enough profit there may be a great slowdown in new R&D for new drugs,

Im not sure food and medicine prices should fall under fed govt proirities.

Let pharma expense their R&D when incurred. Really bad tax code section that Trump signed (174D) forces pharma companies to wait up to 15 yrs to deduct R&D expenses. The definition of "R&D" is really broad too...

With some extraordinary creativity and money, someone or some entity can create a market. It's happened, but rarely across time. The market itself creates the most opportunity for the most prudent and productive investors

Ive got bad allergies. Generic versions of Zyrtec, etc pushed all allergy meds down...

Except that the pharmacy’s are all corporate controlled and they have decided to collaborate on pricing.

Why do you think 30 years ago the pharmacy looked like a mom and pop business and now they all look like the holy temple in Jerusalem.

They’re making a killing on generics.
I learned so things as the redhead went through treatment. And it’s ugly.

I’ll give you an example.
The redhead had to take a prescription vitamin for iron deficiency called Hemocyte Plus. There is a generic version. The name brand is 65$ a month. The Generic is 59$.
If I pay cash (which is a whole different fight with the pharmacist) the name brand is 45$ and the generic is 6$.

So if cash price was the supply cost. They make 20$ on name brand and 53$ on generic. And that’s a glorified vitamin.

food is a major priority for a country and a necessity of necessites. If you want to destroy a country destroy it's food supply. food has to be protected at all costs and kept cheap for the masses unless you want a starving third world country.

I wonder if there's been a single instance of a doctor actually being "helped" by a patient asking about a drug $$$$ that he or she saw on TV in the last 10 years?
My fishing buddy is a Dr.
his big gripe is patience wanting “the purple pill”. They have no idea what it treats but they come in looking for it.
