White House 'actively looking at' suspending habeas corpus

Oh yeah that’s it. Trust me I’m laughing my ass off at the mental gymnastics you’re putting yourself thru selling an invasion 😂

That’s all you got? Tired chat board clichès? “Mental gymnastics”. “Word salad”. Laughing and clown emojis?

Are you in denial that there’s not a problem with millions having broken the law to enter the country? Just give them all a pass. No more will dare doing the same, right?

All options should be considered. I don’t think that declaring an invasion will be the course taken. It creates other issues. But it’s an interesting headline and talking point for the Maddow types to use to distract from the real issue.

That’s all I need. You’re the one with the water pails trying to sell this as acceptable. It’s your burden to prove this idiotic unwarranted idea isn’t idiotic and it’s warranted. Thus far all you’ve brought are emotional appeals. “If it saves just one life”

And short of an invasion or open hostilities declared then this idea is DOA as used in the historical context thus far. W tried to be cute and circumvent habeas corpus with the Gitmo detainees. He lost multiple cases via SCOTUS ruling. That is the bar Trump has to pass to prevail.

More water carrying. Ok. You do you.

It’s a historically bad idea. It’s petty dictator level thinking. It’s SUPPOSED to be hard for the government to go after the people. It’s SUPPOSED to be hard to detain people without cause. Arrest as many of them as they like. But give them due process and be held accountable as having cause to actually detain them.

You are wasting your time. If Trump served him a sh*t sandwich and told him it was a taco, he would rant about how it was the best taco ever...

Hell, he supported getting rid of the free market to subsidize Hollywood because Trump suggested it...

No. You need more than that if you’re going to follow me around and skew my actual comments. Like making up fake quotes attributed to me as you did above.

Millions have broken the law entering the country. As I’ve posted from the link, Miller said there are options being considered. If they decide this option will be challenged and fail then they’ll adjust. The idiots are the ones that enabled the mess.

Deportation doesn’t necessarily require due process in a courtroom. Non-citizens can be deported administratively within the agency and it’s constitutional.

The Alien Enemies Act is constitutional. Using it to remove gang members is what’s being challenged in court - therefore the administration can consider whether or not to go that route and ultimately have it go to SCOTUS. Or they might be considering other options that don’t generate the shocking headlines.

Those in deportation jail could also argue the due process angle from within detention facilities. Or from the places that they’ve been deported to.

I assume that you’re cool with not accepting that entering illegally is not a valid method of obtaining residency or citizenship. Just leave them be if they avoided LEO at the open border? Or encouraging millions more to enter illegally?

Were you fine with previous POTUSes weaponizing the DOJ?

Does it come with your word salad?

A tariff is the same thing as getting rid of the free market? And I’m in favor of subsidizing Hollywood “because Trump suggested it?” Stop lying.

If you were paying attention you’d see that I also questioned how the tariff math would even work when movies are stitched together from many sources and locations. How is b-roll handled? Archive footage? Foreign produced elements that are cut from the final product? I simply thought it was hilarious that the Hollywood elites profiting by avoiding CA taxes, high wages, and regulations would get their panties twisted while the camera operators, makeup artists, craft services, set builders, security, and the like would be beneficiaries of repatriating the work. Los Angeles as well with all of their welfare issues. Quite the conundrum for the righteous liberals.

Did you miss this comment?

“But declaring it an “invasion” brings its own set of issues.”

How would you deal with millions and millions of illegal immigrants that broke line in front of those immigrants doing it legally? Give them all a free pass and encourage more of the same?
Let them cook your food, pick your vegetables, clean your house. Lots of jobs here that our kids won't do.

Most are law abiding folks. But you already knew that.

Couldn’t answer the question I see. Not surprised.

“Pretend” emergency? “Pretend” gang members as well I suppose. Pretend jihadists? Pretend October 7th supporters.
There are roughly the same # of unauthorized immigrants in our country today as when GW was President.

If you support the suspension of Habeas Corpus, show me the invasion.

Go.

LMAO with this wall of gibberish completely misrepresenting my post history on illegal aliens entering the US and I’m the one misrepresenting what you’re saying.🤡

You’re right @BigOrangeMojo I am clearly a dirty liberal and my entire post history obviously reflects that 😂

You forgot this one:

*Let them adhere to established H-2A and H-2B guest worker programs instead of skirting the law by being here illegally.

The otherwise law-abiding folks wouldn't have cause to be sent home if they entered legally. But you already knew that.

In other words, they are trying to see what they can get away with, when it comes to taking people's rights away in a massive expansion of government power, and you the "libertarian" are defending that

It is supposed to be hard for the government to detain CITIZENS. People without authorization to be here in the first place have no right to attempt to demand rights that they wouldn’t have had they not committed the crime of illegal immigration in the first place. You cannot use the fruits of your crime to attempt to avoid the consequences of your crime. A bank robber cannot use his stolen funds to pay his defense attorney. Same thing here

You are the one who tried to justify the tarrifs because "losing any industry is a matter of national security" and tried to jusitfy such an idiotic policy as trolling the liberals.

Hollywood/CA cant compete because they are 25-35% more expensive than anywhere else in the US and even higher % outside the US. Instead of realizing all that this liberal crap is causing CA not to compete, you were in alignment to throw them a tariff lifeline because Trump told you to. Funny when Biden tried to subsidize the making of green energy products in America vs all overseas there wasnt the "losing any industry is a matter of national security line."

You dont like the term mental gymnastics because people call you out for bending to every single one of Trump's positions, even if it contradicted the prior one.

Then let them go back to their country of origin, apply for a guest worker visa, and then wait in line like millions of LEGAL immigrants do.

Habeas applies to anyone who is confined, not only citizens. You made that up

This thread shows that there are plenty of Americans who'd happily accept a country without a shred of due process, as long as Trump told them to do so

Jonestown level cult behavior lol

Get your lotion and go masterbate to the View you liberal....

100% obedience or else

I didn’t make anything up. I am stating an OPINION. I feel it defeats the spirit of the law
for a criminal to take advantage of the fruits of the crime. Basic ethics.
This is the same thing as those recent cases when squatters take over a home while the owners are away and then call the police and sue when the rightful owner tries to evict them.
Can we at least agree that this is an ABUSE of the law?
And when a law keeps getting abused, people eventually get fed up and start to demand that the law either be changed or ignored. We are at that point. The vast majority of Americans support mass deportations. That is why we got Trump for a second time.
Not saying that is a good thing but just stating that that is where we are at.

Nope. This tired argument doesn’t work either. When the constitution speaks of citizens rights it states that. Otherwise people applies across the spectrum.

I gave Trump props on closing the inflow of illegals a page or so ago. It was a major plank on his campaign platform and they quickly got that task accomplished.

However they have continually ran a foul of the law and constitution on the removal process. As I’ve said in other threads just call balls and strikes.
