The Atlanta Braves

This is mostly shouting into the void (i.e., not folks in here) but it sort of warms my heart that "no doubt league ace #1 over anybody" Paul Skenes is, turns out, touchable.

The gap some were trying to suggest between him and Skubal or others was getting a bit silly.

I think Acuna's knees are going to play a significant factor to keep the DH spot open as well. With Murphy/Baldwin and Acuna's knees, losing Ozuna is going to suck but I think they would rather have the roster flexibility.

The thing is, if they let Ozuna go, they cannot have a black hole at SS and LF like it has been the last few years.
Outside the box, put Acuña in LF to save some wear and tear, leave Eli in RF while trying to trade for (and extend) Cedric Mullins. Would love to see Acuna/HarrisMullins across the outfield in the second half. Get something for Ozuna while you can and anything you can get for Arcia, Profar and Kelenic. Go with Baldwin as the primary DH and rotate with Acuna/Murphy as you said. Verdugo, White and Profar(?) would be a pretty versatile bench.
I doubt anyone would want Arcia, Kelenic,or Profar but you never know

Given the way Allen has played defensively and the lack of options available, there is probably not a chance we trade for a SS before the deadline. I thought maybe Bichette would be an option, but he's been bad defensively and hasn't been much better offensively than Allen. Maybe Willie Castro from Minny or Isiah Kiner-Falefa from Pitt could be options. Either way, the options aren't good trying to find a replacement in-season.

Also, there is no way we bring in another OFer either. Verdugo and White have been awesome and should make for a great platoon when Acuna is back. Despite Harris' struggles, we aren't benching him any time soon. Then you have Profar factoring into the situation for the regular season when gets reinstated.

Providing no major injuries, I suspect AA will be bringing in multiple relievers and a SP. Probably not the SP that we all want, but some that is solid and will provide quality innings down the stretch. Chris Bassitt sure would be nice. But honestly I would take Zach Eflin. We just need quality starters. And the relievers likely won't be an elite level closer/set up men, but it'll be guys that are really solid.

If A.J. has indeed turned the corner, then we might be ok on SP. Some won't admit it, but Elder has been pretty good lately too.

Wonder what the Reds would want for Hunter Greene? 😆
