Damn - was it really 2023? I looked at BR and noticed he finished with the good numbers he did that year, and figured that the year he almost got cut was 2022. He must have hit .400+ the second half of that season. It was 2023, but I remember Bow basically tweeting he had one more week before the Braves moved on and he literally started raking.
Marcel will be 35 after this season. I think we might give him a 2 or 3 year deal.
Then again there's AA ..

They need to figure out the Baldwin thing… Not sure that gives them that much more flexibility, especially if they waste a spot on a 3rd catcher. We shall seeI think Acuna's knees are going to play a significant factor to keep the DH spot open as well. With Murphy/Baldwin and Acuna's knees, losing Ozuna is going to suck but I think they would rather have the roster flexibility.
The thing is, if they let Ozuna go, they cannot have a black hole at SS and LF like it has been the last few years.

I feel like there was also an injury that weekend that opened a roster spot that in turn saved Ozuna from getting cut.Ozuna was rocking a 10 wRC+ in April 2023. He didn't play for five straight days, Bow made the tweet that Ozuna's days were numbered. They gave him five days off to basically a way to clear his head and then he started raking.
Someone needs to get moved man.My guess would be they do what they did in 2022. Use the catcher platoon for the DH spot and then let Acuna DH twice a week so that way Murphy/Baldwin still get a day off every week for 2026 and forward. The problem is going to get Ronnie on board lol
