I wish some of you younger cats could have seen the original V-Roys live. Those shows were some of my favorites from the college years.

I left Knoxville for Chapel Hill after graduation in '94, so all I ever saw of the V-Roys was posters advertising shows when I came back into town for ballgames.

True story. Many years ago I had just finished putting a new radiator in an old CJ and had it running and making sure all was working well. Had that "good feeling" you described and everything. Now for those reading that don't know the hood brace is actually attached at the top of the hood and not on the frame. So just as I'm getting ready to drop the hood on a job well done the brace detaches and (I can still see it in slow motion) swings down into the fan causing all manner of hell to break loose including punching a couple holes in my freshly installed radiator.

The only good news is that there was no wife/gf in the picture to comment on the incident. That would likely have gone...badly.
