Cool. Don't get upset when America's best masters and PhD students decide to go abroad and study at places where they can actually conduct research, or when companies have to start bringing in more H1B workers because US universities can't graduate students in fields without research programs.

37T in debt. We cant afford this...

So for four years prior it was...

You do know the Trump admin signed the bills giving trillioms of this COVID money and nuking the reporting requirements?

Note, the Biden admin followed this same practice

Repeating that as a mantra will most assuredly bring you comfort when someone you care about is suffering from a condition that wasn't profitable enough for Johnson & Johnson to bother funding any research for it.

LOL

Next use the old tried and true "If it saves just one life" or "It's for the children"

These institutions already have billions. Same thing as when you brought up this same thing with St. Jude....

People here are nonstop patting him on the back for his great ideas at Tesla, and when his idea sucks, people like you immediately pivot to patting him on the back for getting rid of it
Im not patting anything. Im laughing at the constant pearl clutching by people like Huff and yourself when a business man pivots from a failed idea to a a different one...as if they are supposed to continue that way of thinking....if you have ever run a Business you would know that this type of thing will happen often as market ideas lose those initial excitement or the face of a company is a troll... And given that Huff only mention of a cyber truck were when doge started I have a hard time believing that was his intent.

This is the stupidest sh*t Ive ever read. The stores that sell Coca Cola is who receives the SNAP money, not Coca Cola....

Not much different than many of the "farm subsidies" most of them are food stamps and other nutrition programs. Ethanol subsides are counted as farm subsides but go to the blenders not the farmers.

It's all BS but...

What's the difference..we have been doing that several things is manufacturing...why should research be different...either way the taxpayers pay for it..either directly or indirectly

Regardless of the term “subsidize”,SNAP participants purchase a ton of junk food.

Caught up in semantics…or hyperbole

Yes, SNAP recipients do purchase a bunch of junk. They purchase it from stores that sell it because the federal government allows for SNAP purposes.

That's not a Coca Cola subsidy...

“The government loads $328 billion of your tax care money on the EBT cards for SNAP recipients, and they go into the stores and they buy Coca Cola products, Frito Lay products, Pepsi products.”

The article states as above.,I mean, I took the article to talk about junk food. Now maybe they were loose in their terminology, but I dont think anyone took it to mean a direct payment to CC.

LOL They might be 'going abroad', but make no mistake who will be paying for it. Just like with your hero Fauci, they will be going abroad to perform similar research that turns the common cold into a bioweapon. Stuff that is illegal to do here. (And should be illegal everywhere)

If there is money to be made in those areas, big pharma will cough up the research dough. You are naive as hell if you think they are going to let it go abroad without their fingers in it all the way to the top of their heads. And then as an added bonus, the end product will cost more here in the USA.... just like it always does. Awesome

I don't know about you, but I haven't seen a whole lot of cures come out recently. the last big thing, turned out to not be that effective at all, but hey the government mandated it so it must be good right?

sure they can fix your hair loss, and ED problems, but cancer? eh they found some existing medicines that worked, and found ways to address some specifics, but nothing ground breaking. heart problems? diabetes? the things that kill people every year. Granted I don't think it can really be cured but Dementia/Alzheimers have entered the cold fusion era of "ground breaking break thru but still a decade away" phase.

It looks like most research is going towards keeping homosexuals “undetectable”. They bombard tv with commercials promoting a new homosexual pill/treatment every day.

Literally the tweet called it a Coca Cola subsidy....

That's looser than a Kardashian in a NBA locker room

thats a grossly wrong characterization. it allegedly makes HIV undetectable. I haven't seen anything to say it only works on homosexuals.

If your bar is "well they didn't cure it" in determining whether medical research is necessary or beneficial, then I don't think there's much discussion to be had in your binary world.
