It was permitted.The vape was legal. She had a prescription for medical marijuana in Arizona. Guess what? That doesn't make it legal to then carry that marijuana into a foreign country. Marijuana is illegal in Russia, and she was arrested and prosecuted for it. Was the sentence harsh? Yes. That's the risk you take when you do idiotic things like transport drugs into a foreign country.
She carried it in an unapproved manner.
Had she carried it as was permitted by the Russian government she would have been arrested for something else.
I’ve carried pharmaceuticals to Russia that are illegal in Russia. I had the proper paperwork and made damn sure I carried it correctly.
Look up the transcripts of her court case. It’s all about how it was carried and not so much about the drug itself.
