I don't believe that drawing such a parallel has the effect that you are probably shooting for.

I have never had a problem acknowledging that Biden's faculties were obviously in serious decline, and that those close to him were aggressively trying to conceal his diminished mental state.

Years back, I had the pleasure of meeting the lead singer of cannibal corpse at a show in ATL. Long story short, I thought he was going to be a mean azz but he was surprisingly super cool and bought me a couple of shots and we threw back a few. Odds of MR being that cool? Very low most likely.

The "sharp as a tack" thing wasn't a circle jerk. They were covering for Biden's diminished mental state in a coordinated and dishonest manner, but that's not the same thing as shamelessly kissing someone's butt.
