The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

That is maybe the overall stupidest opinion that exists in this fanbase, regardless of sport. Just an absolute brain dead take. But half this fanbase lives to hate on the Titans like a bunch of babies so I'm not surprised.
Yeah, it’s not even rooted in reality, as they will crap on the Titans regardless. If they had actually drafted Hooker, he would almost certainly look bad on a bad team. And they would hate on the organization for “ruining” him. Hell, even if they drafted a Vol who went on to be a stud, they would say he’s being wasted in Nashville and would be better off on literally any other team.

What’s sad is a lot of otherwise reasonable posters in that thread can’t help but participate.

The circlejerk of ignorant Titans hate in the recruiting forum thread is so tiresome. Some people in there truly believe the Titans should exist solely to draft Vols.
I saw someone on my timeline not sure if it was X or Facebook say the Nico ordeal is why the Vols should only recruit within Tennessee.

I’ve seen that on this very forum lol. It’s such an absurd overreaction. Dobbs, Hooker, and Peyton himself weren’t Tennessean, so I guess we made a mistake taking them too, right?

Not sure how anyone can hate on this draft. Outside of maybe the Dike pick as your first 4th rd pick. However they had 3 4th round picks. If you swapped Ayomanor and Dike I think a lot would be looking at it different.

It's just a solid draft overall and I think there is a couple of undrated guys they picked up that could make some noise in preseason camp.

Apparently Ole Miss DE Jared Ivey is still available. He would be a nice UDFA pick up.
Shocked he’s still available. Hope that isn’t a red flag.

Definitely want as I have said multiple times. Would love to sign Bru too, I feel like he’d make a good special teamer if he can stay healthy (definitely don’t see him contributing outside of ST's though unfortunately).

I just don't understand the Cam Ward hate. Is it because he played hero ball a few times and had some turnovers? No, he's not a perfect prospect, but his game seems super solid to me.

Part of me wonders if the perception of his 2023 draft grade has stuck with him even after an excellent 2024 season. Analysts were hesitant to give him a significant bump because of his age (and what's with the obsession over 20-21 year old QBs with minimal starting experience anyway?) and perhaps competition level. But he did everything you could have asked for at Miami to show improvement and NFL-readiness IMO. If he had that season at UT he would be an absolute legend here and we would be aghast that anyone wouldn't consider him generational.

And as others have said, I don't see a clear-cut better choice than him in 2026. If there is one, it's probably just that--ONE. And it's unlikely the Titans will be in position to get him.

Man, its crazy how Alabama won 427 titles only recruiting kids from Alabama.

What an asinine take lol

An even worse take I've seen is that Vols fans shouldn't be Braves fans because... the Braves are in Georgia. And that's where the Georgia Bulldogs play, so some Braves fans might be UGA fans and there's no comingling of fandoms allowed, even for pro teams. MULTIPLE posters have said that in the RF thread. Just sheer lunacy.

I mean, it's fine to ONLY cheer for UT sports. I know a few people like that. But to become so blinded with hate for other programs that you extend it to the entire state they're in is 3rd grader logic.

Yeah, I've had it out with these window lickers a few times. Both types. Just completely brain dead takes when it comes to the Titans. Taking Will Levis really did a number on some folks (for some reason).

Is the 2026 QB class likely to be a better overall group than the 2026 class? Absolutely. This year's overall class was very mediocre outside of Ward and maybe Dart. But that isn't the question you should be asking. The question you need to ask is "Are any of the 2026 QBs a better NFL prospect than Cam Ward is right now?" And that answer right now is unequivocally "No."

There are no elite QB prospects for the 2026 currently. No Caleb Williams. No Drake Maye. No Bryce Young or CJ Stroud. And when you consider that Arch Manning (if he even lives up to the hype) is likely not coming out, then you really don't have a front runner for QB1 in the 2026 class, Nussmeier, Allar, Klubnik, and Sellors are your most likely candidates to be the first QB to come off the board. Maybe Dante Moore balls out in Oregon and comes out early or some other upper classmen QB comes out of the blue to post a Heisman caliber season (Joey Aguilar ;)). But none of those guys are currently a better prospect than Cam Ward is right now.

I just don't see how you can argue against taking Ward right now. We have to find a franchise QB. And there currently isn't a QB in next year's class that looks like a better NFL prospect than Cam Ward.

I'm a Chiefs fan, so sorry for interrupting but: I saw someone said Cam Ward won't be a franchise QB? I love watching CFB and the NFL, and this guy is poised, he can create, he seems like a complete guy and the real deal. If I'm a Titans fan, I might have a bit of hope for next season.

For sure more hopeful than last year. I’m anticipating improved oline play given Latham is going back to RT and PS is in his 3rd, along with replacing NPF. I don’t expect anything near elite from Moore, but I think he can be average.

Our WR room is probably roughly the same. I don’t see any significant improvement there, but we have a good group of RBs and a solid defense

Wait. What?
from the Browns?

I honestly think their front office does a great job. Everyone misses on QB. Outside of the Watson deal (you can’t predict a severe career changing injury) I like what they have done over several years

Asked ChatGPT to scout Ward based on his career stats alone (It hasn't been trained on data from the 2024 season so it has no prior knowledge of Ward at Miami without searching that, and it didn't in this conversation).

It came back with a late 1st-round, early 2nd-round grade and likely a career backup designation.

However, when I mentioned his lack of elite playmakers and Miami's offense going from No. 39 nationally to No. 1 as soon as he took over, it came back with this:

"Before this revelation: "Good tools, nice final year, maybe late Round 1."

After this: "Game-changer who lifts the program, not just a passenger. Build your franchise around him."

Pretty interesting IMO, especially since it "doesn't know" that Ward went No. 1 overall or what his 2024 season at Miami looked like (without me feeding it that data).
