I'd be a crappy coach. No one on the team would wear #1. QB would be #2, FB #3, RB #4, wingback #5. 2nd string guys would start in the 10s.

Right side OL would all be even 60s, left side all odd 60s. . . 2nd string would be 70s. . .

As an official, can't say how much I endorse this. So many times I see a penalty and I can't see the number, but I know what position the guy was. Then I get the coach YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT NUMBER YOU MUST NOT HAVE SEEN A PENALTY THEN

Well Ya, of course. But if ibhave limited resources or draft picks, I'm not using a disproportionate amount on an rb. OL, DL, qb are where you spend or even overspend. Find the best available rb with whatever you can afford after you're happy with those 3 position groups, in my amateur opinion.

I wasn’t ever talking about resources, just generalities. We can’t always get the best player, sometimes we just have to take the best one we can. I am not saying take only 5 stars running backs. I am sure our coaches try to find the best players they can get regardless of position. That’s all. GBO

Well, a little life altering news from me today. After 12 years at my company I have put in my 2 weeks notice. I I've been dealing with a new GM at work and this guy is something. Continually making life hard for everyone in the company, especially those that are in management, like yours truly. Well, yesterday I had chest pain on left side along with arm pain and numbness. Went to the ER, no heart attack, but most likely stress related. May 9 I will be a free agent. Not sure what the future looks like but it won't be here any longer.

That’s a hard decision. Great job focusing on your health. For too many, that’s a secondary consideration. Confident you’ll find the right opportunity.

How old are you?
Biggest mistake I see with McKenzie is trying to extend too much. At the point where you get relief then stop at that position. Don’t try to extend further. Facet joint arthritis is definitely a limiting factor.
The original McKenzie was based on disc injuries in 20 year olds so very few with arthritis. I find that in the presence of lumbar spine arthritis that extending too far can cause worsening pain.

99.5% of sciatica is from a disc injury without a doubt.
Due to insurance constraints, I send patients to therapy for McKenzie and then only get an MRI in the ones that don’t improve.
As only 5% truly need spine surgery, it’s an excellent first step in treatment.
If you can get a doc to prescribe a double Medrol dose pack then definitely add that to the therapy. I have found that the 12 day taper works better than the 6 day taper. Take the whole days worth with breakfast. Works better than spreading it out all day and significantly reduces the side effects.
Day 1: 6 pills
Day 2: 6 pills
Day 3: 5 pills
Day 4: 5 pills
Day 5: 4 pills
Day 6: 4 pills
Day 7: 3 pills
Day 8: 3 pills
Day 9: 2 pills
Day 10: 2 pills
Day 11: 1 pill
Day 12: 1 pill

The key to McKenzie is to do it at least twice per day every day without fail. I find that the static position works just as well as the dynamic position. Static position is easier to maintain.
Don’t stop when you feel all better. That’s the biggest mistake and setup to recurrent disc injury. If you stop at the end of pain, then the healing disc scar is as strong as a sheet of plywood. It’s okay until you become more active again, but it is easily re-injured. Continuing McKenzie twice daily for 4 months after the pain is gone will help you build a stronger scar that will be the equivalent of a double thick brick wall.

Close to 50 and do deal with arthritis too. Minor usually fades when I get moving. I understand sticking to a plan. I had to do that with my fasciatis. Learned the hard way there.

I had the same thing. It was so bad at one point I couldn't stand more than 2 minutes without intense pain.
I did it all. The shots, acupuncture, chiropractor. None of it helped or it helped for just a short time.

Finally went to an orthopedic doctor. Had back surgery and have been pretty much pain free since 2007. I'll have some arthritis every once in awhile, but that is nothing compared to the pain b4 surgery.

Everyone panics over the idea of back surgery, but it was less than an hour and the scar is about 2 inches long. I felt pain free immediately.

My L4 and L5 had completely closed on the nerve.

Just letting you know there's that option and it's not as bad as it sounds

Thank you for the info... It sounding more and more like a nerve/disc situation... I had a few shots about 10yrs ago and thought my back was good to go, but then this started and I can't get rid of it... I travel every week on planes and rental cars and it's killing me and my workouts...

Need to find the source of issues first. Lots of people use sciatica as a very broad term for “low back pain”

Do symptoms go all the way into your foot? Do they follow a uniform dermatomal pattern? Do the symptoms radiate down into the glute then stop?

4 big things I screen for.
1. Are symptoms coming from the spine? Confirmed with a “slump test” or “straight leg test
2. Are there tight muscles in the low back or glutes that are pinching along the nerve?
3. Do you have neural tension? The nerves are too tight and need “nerve gliding” exercises
4. Is it really a muscle that is causing a referral pattern that mimics nerve pain.

All 4 are different and require different types of exercises and movements to alleviate the root cause
