You're correct, Not completely. I know our basketball ticket prices go up for talent fees & maybe some of it comes from that? Thought some may come from extra revenue generated by team success. Yes you nailed it. I don't get it. Seems unfairI’m not sure you’re understanding where the money is coming from…
How do you figure NIL is based solely on how good a program was?Bet so for those seasoned with nil knowledge. This is the part of cbb I don't understand rn so I asked - the amount of money a school receives to spend on their roster should be based on how good & successfully they are. Has the program earned that money?
Seems like the brunt of NIL is coming from lobbying big money boosters, at this juncture. Like SF said, Ament’s money was essentially financed from a separate group of people (or person), outside of our normal NIL budget. Hoops at a lot of places this offseason, to me at least, seems to be being funded from mostly lobbying big money people on the need for specific players and/or windows of success with a coach or group of players. You're correct, Not completely. NIL is funded by fans/boosters, their collective then decides how to divide those funds, obviously with the suggestion of the school as to what % goes to which sports. Kentucky has an insane fan base that cares way more about basketball than it does football. This will just get even worse when revenue sharing becomes a thing, the school then decides how that is divided and again Kentucky cares more about basketball than football. You're correct, Not completely. I’d like this finish. Even as great as I think Adams can be, we need some experience at the 2, or we’re essentially rolling with all freshmen there. Even if it’s just someone as depth, we need someone with a year or two of playing a prominent role there.Adams, Chaikin, and Tyson
Or if the guys get another season, add Gainey instead of Tyson.
Would be a nice haul this off-season.
Thank you. I hate thatNIL is funded by fans/boosters, their collective then decides how to divide those funds, obviously with the suggestion of the school as to what % goes to which sports. They don’t spend much for football. How does this happen if true? Why would Ky have so much more to spend on their roster than everyone else. Seems unfair imo.
They don't go past sweet 16 yet they get rewarded more money to buy a final 4? Why. I'd assume the final schools like Florida & Houston would have more to spend, even Duke + Auburn. And yes us the national college town of the year.
